He shook his head hearing that an seeing that grin. He quickly moved to the human and turned his back to them. He then dropped his hand to his weapon. "Id loose that grin if i were you. "

Toriis remained stock still, watching with wide eyes. She remained silent, but cast her eyes aroundher surroundings, looking for something the could use as a weapon. A large stick, perhaps.

Maveric unsheathed his sword. "Do you think it wise to mess with me?" he growled at the rabbit. He gripped his sword tightly, until his knuckles turned white. "Me, the greatest theif in Klithin?"

He drew his sword an twirled it for a moment. "I bet i could be a better theif then you. Ive lived a long time and im very skilled with a sword. Go ahead try to get to her i will see you fall fore you touch her."

Maveric did something very odd. He laughed. "If you are so noble as to protect a human, I have little reason to fight you." the wolf said.

Vixen starred at the two of them, quite ignoring the fact that a human was so close.

"Could ya put me down, like now?" Nusutto glarred, poking her in the ribs.

"I told you to shush, now SHUSH!" she glarred at him, causing his ears to go back in surprise.

He shook his head. "Look ill protect anyone or anything that needs my protection so long as they mean no harm to anyone or thing else." He kept his hold of his sword wondering what this wolf thief might try next.

Maveric resheathed his sword. "A noble cause." he said. "Few would be as noble as you. I threaten those I do not know because I am a blind man. But to protect-that is something I do not know."

He smiled and sheathed his sword. "Then perhaps its time you learn. My master taught me this. I only wish he was still around to this day to see what his pupil had become."

*Oakleaf watches the scene from the branches of a tree, emerald eyes gleaming. A robin pokes its head out from the branches behind her, chirping loudly. Startled, Oak loses her balance, and falls nearly on top of the human.*

*Eowyn, now at the river, hears arguing, the ring of swords, and then jovial speech. Her curiosity aroused, she decides to investigate. "Wait," she whispers to Windfola, and silently she made her way to the sound.*

Maveric laughed again. "It is impossible for a theif to learn noblity. It is like teaching a fish how to fly."

Toriis' eyes were all that moved, flicking from anthro to anthro, following the conversation intently. Failing to find anything weapon-like within easy reach, she had resorted to listening and planning, trying to keep her frenzied thoughts under control.

A robin whistled gaily somewhere inthe foliage above. Toriis thought she heard some rustling among the branches, but dismissed it as the beating ofa bird's wings...until ma figure came crashing down from the trees, landing nearly on top of her! She spun around silently to face the newcomer, eyes wide.
