yay!! semi finals of tennis just ended, between Justine Henin-Hardenne (belgian favorite and number 1 of world) and someone called Anastasia. She won the first set not so easily with 7-5, she lost the second set with 5-7, and in the final set, she was losing with 1-5 and suddenly she started playing better again, 5-5, then it was REALLY exiting, at last she won with 8-6!!! :D :D

that means tomorow she plays the single women tennis finals! hope she gets gold :D (us, belgians, have no single gold yet xD )

Henin Hardenne and Clijsters are my favourite women's singles players, I hope Henin wins :)

OK, I looked it up. The record for the most medals of any kind at a single Olympics is Soviet gymnast Aleksandr Dityatin's 8. The records that Matt found in the first topic were for only individual medals, and span more than one Olympics. Phelps can still tie the single Olympics record, if the U.S. team wins the 400-meter medley relay.

The New Zealand rowing teams seem to have all gotten to the next round, but the papers are still complaining about 'where are our medals'

Is anybody else in the US annoyed by having mainly swimming and gymnastics as basically the only sports during 'primetime', or on at all during the day? There have been some other sports, I've seen rowing, beach and indoor volleyball, some diving, and some track. But half of what's on is prelims and semifinals. A lor of other sports have been shown on cable, at ridiculous times of the morning, such as equestrian event finals at 3:30 AM Mountain Time. That was a bit of a rant, sorry.

Equestrian events always get shafted in the olympic.
Current rumors include (over the next few years) getting rid of the equestrian events; which angers me.
Most people who say that, are people who havn't a clue about what riding really is. Saying the people who do it aren't really athletes... blah blah blah. *snorts*

I havn't been unhappy with the coverage. But I think I prefer winter olympics. Heh. I'm all about snowboarding.
(Though I honestly can't wait for some of the running/hurdling events to really start going!)

I personally think they should add all of those XGame games... skateboarding, motorcross? (that's what it's called right? :P ), those bmx bike things etc etc etc.... all of those are awesome.

WOW. I just watched the women's trampoline event. It was AMAZING. A woman from Germany named Anna won. She did like 6 flips in the air at a time. It was awesome.

They wouldn't take it off... I seems to be a big part of the olympics...
BTW, has anyone seen any of the equestrian events yet?? I checked the scedule and there have already been a few, but nothing on tv yet..

YES! Another gold for the UK. We just won the Coxless Four Men Rowing competition and we are probably going to win the Marathon tomorrow with Paula Radcliff. Anyway, at least GB are now in the top 15.

New Zealand finally gets a gold, rowing again like last time (it always pays not to fall out of the boat >__<).

I know. I thought Canada was going to win but then our boys just gave it all they had. And Italy did very well today. They almost overtook us.
