What did we ever do to the Turks?

Pinkpt was pinkpoogleto-oy, now it's pinkpt, not pinkpoogleto-oy.
Why did pinkpoogleto-oy get the works? Is-tan-buuul.

Is Turkey the new Nigeria or something?

Why they changed it I can't say
People just liked it better that way

I am glad that PPT seems stable now.
Nevermind. PPT appears to be far from stable at the moment.

If it is then I guess China is too, because most of PPT's traffic was coming from there according to Alexa.

EDIT: The problems can also sometimes cause you make a repeated double post because you don't know whether your post went through with all the page loading problems especially when you get the blank done page.

Ugh. Can't they just leave us alone? I mean we haven'y done anything to harm them in any way shape or form right?

While I am disturbed by both the sudden exodus of long-time moderators/members and the fact that PPT has been down more than it's been up for the past week, what I am most disheartened by is the lack of any explanation/response from an administrator. Does anyone still care about this site???? How long before PPT goes poof altogether?

My membership might show less than 3 years, but I visited the main PPT site for years before discovering the forum, and then lurked here in the forum for at least several months before joining. Nearly everything I learned about Neopets I learned here (or from a link provided here), and it'd be sad to see all the effort that went into this site (not to mention the incredible community) disappear.

It's still being discussed as you post. Until the dynamic stabilizes, I'm afraid I am not in a position to explain anything in the form of an "official" statement. To run through the story as I understand it would be nothing more than gossip and would do more harm than good.

Please understand that I am doing this because it's still in a very delicate stage. Yes there has been an exodus (not all of us are leaving though) and I completely understand your anxiety over this. Emotions are running high it's very easy to put the 'ole foot in the mouth and say something that either starts a panic or worse, may turn out to be untrue. So I must beg your forgiveness, your understanding, and that you remain calm.

The technical issues, however, are just that...technical issues, which is beyond my area of expertise. That's a completely separate issue that had really lousy timing. The matter is further complicated because Hunter Lupe is currently away and Kym is currently on sick leave. They will be made aware of this when they return. But we're not poofin' yet.

Here's an update on the server issue:

I've gotten the apache and mysql restarted and they expect PPT to start working more smoothly, although I'll keep a wee eye out just in case something else has gone wrong.

-high fives- I've been home all day, snow day!, and it's been working great!

Yey! So I don't need to fly over to the server and attack it with a screwdriver and bits of chewing gum. :D

Well, when posting and editing a post of mine, the page did not fully load... so maybe you should start thinking of what chewing gum tastes the best. :P

Although I occasionally get a non-loading page (no big deal because I just refresh and it loads fully), the site is much better than it has been.

In case more than a couple of you are curious about why Pinkpt.com isn't pinkpoogletoy.com anymore, its a long story a long time ago:

Once upon a time PPT had some issues, and Pinkpt.com as a domain name was picked up temporarily, but people got used to it so Kym didn't see a point in trying to change it back.

The end.

I think...

Issues should all be resolved now.
