ok, you know how if you use google or something, and you type in somethhing.... say you wanted to search on google for "dogs" and you type in "dog" and go on with your search...

then, another day, you come back to search for doritoes. you type in "do" and a little drop box comes down with recent searches... it would have "dog" in it.....

well, i need to find out how to get rid of those recent searches i have currently..... my moms birthday is coming up, and ive been looking for these china dishes for her to replace broken ones in her old china set... and i found what i was looking for. But, now when i type in "v"...."villeory and boch plates" and "villeroy boch china" come down and stuff, and my mom does use this computer once and a while, and id like to keep it secret from my dad for a little while too.... keep it a big surprise.... and its not just "v"... if you type in "v" "t" "p" i" "b" or "w" the search box comes down with various plate searches ive made..... i need to know how to erase those! so please, help me as soon as possible!!!!

thanks sooo much in advance.... i need help!

I think you need to turn off AutoComplete. :)

If you are using Internet Explorer...

Tools > Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete > Uncheck all the boxes and clear the saved history by clicking the buttons. :)

If you are using firefox:
Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Saved Form information (hit clear)

Also wipe your history.
