OMGOSH! That was sosososo long ago. I remember doing that all day. Getting a quest, logging into another acount, copying the shop address, logging back in to my account and then getting the item. I would do it over and over and over. And when I got something I couldn't afford (there were so many things I couldn't afford), I would wait the like 12000 seconds untill I could do another one!

I've been on neo for 3 years with the username 'serilina'. I remember when the WOE was actually random and you had just as much chance of winning the 10k as you did of getting the mystery prize. hehehe, I remember when the gamesroom was a bookshelf! Theme parks were still there, and so was bingo! I joined during the tyranian war, and through the very common random events (as they were) managed to get over 50 points without ever fighting once!
OMG! Switch-a-roo! I made heaps on that because back in those days I had a slow as slow connection and could play on the fastest level and still keep up! I'd forgotten all about switch a roo! In those days your interest at the bank was collected automatically too....
I remember neo beofore the was any comercialisation - no sponsor games, and no merchandise - funnily enough there were no glitches then... coincidence?

I remember when you could ask for faerie quests! I only had one account, so I'd actually do quests the hard way -- go wait at the card shop or whatever and restock the item I needed. And I could always get it; it was way easier to restock back then.
There was no news the day I joined (August 13, 2000), but two days before that (the 11th), theme parks were completed. Three days before I joined (the 10th), the kougra was released. The stock market was still in alpha testing, shops restocked five times per hour (up from four), and mystery island was brand new. The space plot started the week after I joined, and Neopets reached the two million players mark.

Wow, everyone has been on neo for so long, 18 months is nothing. :/ I just looked at the older news and saw that the meridell/dargan war started the same day as I joined! Too bad I didn't know it back then and didn't even get one point.

I remember my main resource income was, for a long time Switch-a-Roo. Now, that was a game, hope it appears in the Graveyard someday.
I remember the stock market having a somehow funny "newscasters", back then. Of course, I also remember buying 12 (yep, twelve - no typo) shares of a company, thinking it would give me a great profit, just to watch Nigel to run away with the few neopoints I made.
I remember when you clicked on the shop to buy something, a pop up window would appear, and on this window you would haggle
I remember buying codestones for 2.500 NP, a fortune for me at the time.
I remember the day I started to get 10 NP of interest, and thinking I was rich.
I remember selling organic fruits for 79 np on my shop, and having a good profit with that.

Giveaway Bonanza! - it seems the season of goodwill and giving has rubbed off on a few of our guilds. Starting on the 24th there will be lots of organised giveaways in the Money Tree. Ones to look out for in no particular order are:
The Elders and Youth Haven Guilds will be teaming up and giving away toys galore on the 24th. The giveaway lasts as long as they still have toys so be quick.
The Neo-Elite Guild will be donating various items on the 24th be sure to drop by and see whats on available.
The Neo Troopz Guild will be giving away items in the Money Tree and to random players on the 24th. You never know it could be your lucky day:)

Listen, people. Many may care about neopets, but it is just a game. You will get over it in no time and if you don't something is screwed up with you. Do you cry when your mom says no gamecube today? Do you bleed when your GBA:SP gets stolen at school? Stop saying that Neopets is more than a game because it isn't. If it was your lifestyle, you need to rethink life. I'm not trying to be mean but I'm not going to be easy and say, "Well I wish you get your account back" because more likely you won't. And from that, you will have to survive and let life lead on.

SITE UPDATE - We have been experiencing problems with peoples items, shops and neomessages today. This is fixed now and should not happen again. Sorry about this!
The Maraquan chefs have been rather busy and have knocked up some amazing new recipes such as their famous Crab Burger, Pickled Eels and Seaweed Sandwiches - mmmmm yummy!
The Neopian Times is out now! Catch up on all the latest gossip, stock tips, hints and lots of great stories and articles.
BATTLEDOME UPDATE - The Pant Devil has been well and truly thrashed over 77,000 times since last night (and getting rather annoyed to tell you the truth). Look out for cool features and new opponents coming in the next week!
The truly garish Disco Acara is now available!
*Lost a few times to Pants man* Damn thing, but I beat him after I trained up and I still am from time to time, if the BD was up..
