I've noticed people getting ruder as well. The neoboards are atrocious. I can't believe how mean/rude some of those people are. I wouldn't say some of those things to someone's face, let alone online! I help my girls collect avatars, but they are *not* allowed to go on the neoboards. When they are older, they can go on ppt for all their neochatting. ;)

The nice people are still in Neopia and there are a lot of them. They are just quieter now that you can get frozen for being good to someone else. Ex.: gifting and holding contests/giveaways is now not allowed on neopets. A very stupid rule if you ask me. -.- It seems like the only way you are allowed to interact with other players on the site anymore is in a non-personal, unfriendly way. It's sad, but I miss the good ol' days. :(

As my time on Neopets progressed, I too noticed the charitable people slowly fading into the shadows, in fear of being taken advantage of and losing their accounts. The game simply became more competitive, with more items and competitions. This made people greedy, then needy, and that progressed into ruder and ruder people amongst the Neoboards and other places.

I tend to avoid people alltogether on Neopets. Sure, I get on the Neoboards once in a while to laugh a bit, but otherwise I play games and stay to myself. Less trouble that way.

However, once in a while I do come across a nice person. On my birthday this year, a completely random person who I had never spoken to before had come across a story of mine in the Neopian Times wished me a happy birthday. I found it very nice. :D
