I must admit that my English is not good too.

Yeah. A lot of people seem to think everyone speaks English as their first language. Even some look at the country and asume because it's an english speaking one they should know English to perfection. So a lot of chatboard arguments come from people trying to put others down. They should just simply tell them the right way to spell something or ask them not to use chatspeak. As chatspeak in it's self used by people in one country might be hard for somebody say from Europe to understand.
But people be rude with instead saying "DUUHH you don't spell it like that, go back to school!!!!1111" Which is just insulting and will not help anyone.
Your English is good on_diet_cat

I find some people can be really rude, and I always check to see if they are british in origin from their profiles.
But people just send one word neomails in reply, or refuse to accept your prefectly reasonable offer that they said they accept, or are just plain annoying.

I would say that, in general, the neoboards have become a much ruder and unpleasant place. This person once asked how to get an avatar on the avatar board, and someone replied with a message similar to this:
luk 4 it on goggle n**b!!!
I mean, how rude is that? They were asking a simple question (with proper grammar, I might add) and this person comes along thinking they are cool with their misspelt chatspeak

Grr!

Hmmm nothing here topped the neomail I got yesterday:
ya know that zombom pillow is 5k in shop dont be a New Member noones gonna buy it from you theres some helpful advice!
true, I restocked it for 5k, but the going price on the wiz was 90k. I had it in my shop for 80k. -.-
Thu Jul 01, 2004 7:44 pm
Hehe, yeah, I love it when they tell you that your items are too expensive.
I have several friends from singapore who speak better english than a lot of people you see around, which says something. It is true that someone who doesnt speak english as a first language shouldnt be harassed - You wouldnt like it if a french person called you an idiot for not being grammatically correct.
But sometimes the overwhelming stupidity you see is just, well, frightening. Even more so when you find out that the perpetrators arent small children.

oh i find it the best is when you intentionally put something expensive so no one will buy it. like when it was christmas time last year, I decided to decorate my shop with christmas items from year's past. And quite a few people had the nerve to e-mail me and go "no one is going to pay 5k for that piece of junk newbie!" It was a Sinsis Crown. But I didn't want anyone to buy it.
I mean if you don't like it... don't buy it! But don't tell me how to run my shop!
Thu Jul 01, 2004 9:29 pm
That happened to me, too, but mine's better than all of yours...
I decided to make a keyring gallery several months ago, and after alot of hard work, I managed to collect every keyring in Neopia, except one (babaa keyring was over 1mil). So I put all the keyrings in my shop, marked 100,000np. I had a few odds and ends from restocks, or cute toys I didn't want to sell, so I'd put them up for 123,123 so I could tell the difference between them and the keyrings.
I had some kid neomail me, with the title: No One Cares. I literally laughed out loud when I read the title, so I opened it up and read the rest of the letter. It was something in the line of, " No one cares about your shop, you know why? because no one's going to pay 100,000 for a stupid keychain that is sold for 1np. If you want me to buy from you, you need to drop your prices, or I won't buy anything at all!"
I laughed. SO hard.... So I mailed him back, telling him it was a gallery, and the items priced over 99,000 were not for sale. And I get this reply that galleries are not allowed on Neopets and he was reporting me. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Thu Jul 01, 2004 9:33 pm
Oh, that cracks me up. Occasionally id tell people exactly what they just said to me about their shop, and they didnt like it!
Thu Jul 01, 2004 9:45 pm
I would love to ask him, Well if galleries are not allowed... why do they showcase them in the news? People need to think be neomailing people eh? you just have to laugh at the level of intelligence on neopia otherwise you'll go crazy.

I acctualy think that the new people that come to neopets are rude. The beg for stuff, and are selfish, and at the end get frozen. Thats why most of the rude people are new, because they don't last as long...

Well, actually, we "neomillionaires" are not rude and selfish, we just dont (or didnt for me

) feel obliged to give out the stuff that we work hard to get to random strangers who are too lazy to do it for themselves. You know, at first you try to to be nice, but eventually too many people say "send me x_item because you are rich and i deserve it" etc etc and you havent got the energy to explain why you dont want to, only for them to call you rude and selfish, ya see?
You want to be making friends with the rich folks, generally they are a lot nicer than your standard New Member who may or may not transgress into a New Member.
I doubt that neomillionaires are rude and selfish. I'm a neomillionaire myself, and as skullsplitter said, it gets very frustrating once you've explained over and over that you're not going to give hard- earned, expensive items away. -_-" For example: I have an account that sells job coupons, and during the short times that my neomail was unblocked, I received at least 10 neomails a day asking for a free job coupon, or to buy my pink JC for 100k, even when I stressed in my lookup that I would block any who did. And since people also can't read that I rot offers, I now have 42 junk offers on one lot.

My actions were/aren't intended to be rude or annoying, but it gets very difficult once a bunch of people who just want expensive items without working are involved. o.O
Again as skullsplitter said, rich people are usually a lot nicer, and I am too, just when I have to deal with these people every day...it doesn't really get any nicer.
Ok, enough of my ranting.

yes. we (the neomillionares) know that many of our response...or lack of...may sound/appear rude to newer players but most of the time, we are just avoiding unnecessary trouble. if a proper question is neomailed to me, i would definitely reply but if i see potential problems by replying, i would avoid it altogether. for example questions like "why did you reject my offer?" (potential argument); " can i have your email/AIM? can you fill in this questionaire? (potential scam)"

Whats new pussycat? ma-a-ssive siggy, whats new pussycat? ma-a-ssive siggy yeah
That aside, the old days were the best, now most people are just concerned with what they can gain from other people, and there is a lot of mistrust

Know what though? As jaded as you can get with people on neo, sometimes you get neomails like this:
Thank you soooooooo much!!¨Really, that was so nice of you! You just helped me to get over 600k now!! Because just as i wanted to look at youre lookup i found a codestone on the floor! Double luck, guess!
Anyways, thank you a billion times! And good luck to you on neopets!
If you ever need anything, just let me know! I would be glad to return the favour!
and it's almost worth all the awful stuff you put up with. ^_^
