Sun Jun 25, 2006 3:00 am

Major update! Read on the project here:

Feel free to discuss now! Make sure to read the whole thing before discussing (atleast up to the data list part ^-^).

I didn't expect 250 codestones to make the prices go down by 300 NP

Hmm. All I see is a gradual drop in prices over the monitored period. The sudden drops you describe are probably just caused by people pricing their items at whole 100s.

cool idea. 250 might just be a small drop in the bucket compared to the hundreds they give out each day due to random events and tombola.

But all codestones have gone down over the past week, discussed here

You're right... there has been a general drop... first time it has been noted that general codestone prices has left the straight line inflation:

I certainly hope (and seriously doubt) that you have more than four data points per codestone for that graph.... That graph is ridiculously irrelevant without more data (except for showing net change)

:x Well, don't see you helping any... it takes time to sample data, especially because that chart in particular is merely a part of a larger sampling of items. I've been getting data on other items as well and that take a lot of time. To sample data for each of those four points took over half an hour apiece. Plus, that chart was not going for details. It was meant for seeing the movement of the economy as a whole. The detailed chart, which focuses on the Eo Codestone, is on Chiasnite's petpage.

I do not see why you say the all codestones chart is irrelevant. Do you have more accurate data besides for that you "feel" the prices are going down? This is the only actual statistic we have on general codestone prices. Unless you have day by day data that you can share, which I seriously doubt, your comment is the one thats ridiculously irrelevant.

Thats a nice petpage.I understand how hard it is to gather data and make a chart like that.

I just got an idea... everything seems to be deflating.. not just codestones... could it be the new restock system that's causing it?

Didn't TNT start freezing restockers in a mass in the last couple of months? Maybe... o_O

I think they meant 'autobuyers'.. would make sense.

I stock books and toys, and books seem to be up in the last week. Toys are even.

If they want to solve the codestone problem, TNT needs to change the site so that you can drop training at the training school if you don't like the codestones needed for payment. It would be a lot harder to corner the market on all of the codestones at once.

The difference is the # of codestones given out by random events and tombola is most likely almost equal to the number used each day in the training and making of red codestones. I'm sure the number of codestones in the population stays relitivly constant. An event that suddenly causes this balance to become disproportionate will either lower or raise the prices of codestones within the population depending on whether there is an increase or a decrease. War and Lenny Conundrum are two times when the prices go haywire.
