Do I need movement?

Hello All. I am raising the stats of my pet. Somewhere long ago I read on a neo fan site that movement doesn't do anything for your pet. Can anyone confirm this?

Right now my stats are:
str 73
def 69
mov 45

I am almost at the point where I will have to level up to 41 and will need 3 codestones to train instead of 2. If movement doesn't matter I will just work on strength and defence. If movement does matter then I would rather pay the 2 codestones now than 3 later on.

Anyone know?

Movement doesn't do a thing. Unless you want to Use a Heavy Robe of Thievery which requires 200movement. But other than that, there is no real point in it.

Thanks for your reply I guess I'll keep my movement at half the other points just in case movement comes to mean something later on.
