It seems that the creator of Sony computers is making PSP (playstation portable), which will be hitting shelves in stores by the end of March, 2004. PS and PS2s will get old and dustly with the new PSPs.

Hmm, you do realize that March, 2004 was a few months ago, right? ANyway, I don't see why this would affect the consoles, it might affect the GBA a little bit but I don't see it being anything too spectacular.

Its a cool idea but I wonder how their going to manage the excessive use of battery power with so much graphics and stuff. None of the new handhelds really interest me, but if I was to get one I'd probally just get the DS anyway.

If it still plays DVDs, I might get it, and if it works with normal PS2 games, I might. Other than that, I'm not getting it unless I need it to play part of the KH series....

I don't think it will affect the consoles...

Portable games are very different to on a TV

I prefer the TV way...

I like dusty old consoles. **pets her 80s NES**
Besides, portable DVD players haven't made regular DVD players start gathering dust. Nor have GBAs made standard Nintendo consoles gather dust.

Are we talking about what it is now, or when it comes out?

Sony's marketing this thing like it's an adult-worthy GBA. But what it is is a portable PS2 with LAN and smaller disks. It'll be interesting to see how it stacks up to the DS.

Personally, I have one word for Sony on the PSP: N-GAGE!!! And it's just around the corner!

I really don't think I'll be getting one, I like my PS and PS2 well enough that I don't need a portable one.
