The revolution has begun!

Thu Aug 25, 2005 5:30 am

Has anybody heard about the revolution it's a new console I can't wait until it comes out.

Yep, one of the things I'm more interested in (though not particularly the oinly thing) is the ability to play the older Nintendo games on the system. To be honest, other than that, I really haven't read up on it (except for some of the specs and other things that were released months ago). I'm hoping it to be the only affordable Next-Gen console, though I'm sure it's still going to be outrageous.

Is it OK if I let my inner fanboy out in this topic? Good. TEH REOVLTUION IS SOOOOOOO GNNOA PWN TEH SP3 AND THE BXOX 063!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111SHIFT

Ok, that felt good. Now that I have that out of my system, I've been hearing we might get some Revolution news today. Gosh, if I don't see controller soon, I'm gonna die. I really hope they don't screw it up...

This appears to be a Nintendo topic. :P

Yeah, amen to the controller. >_> None of the controllers are looking very impressive right now.

Does anyone have a link to this thing? It sounds like it could be cool.

Eh, the 360 is okay (don't personally care for it), at least I can throw the PS3 controller at someone and expect to get it back (which I plan on trying out). XD

Experiment - I'm sure rbpnmn has a few Revolution links up his sleeve. :P

3 things.

1. We already have a thread on this.
2. So far the revolution lacks third-party support.
3. The PS3 controller is a prototype, it is subject to change.

I'm done now, so bye.

Gee, how'd you know?

And Kutaragi said that no drastic changes will be made to the PS3 controller.

1. I believe it's far enough back in the topics, it's at least on page two, so basically a dead topic. This one should be fine.

3. It won't change much

Hre's some info on the revolution:

System Features
Not much is known about the Nintendo Revolution. Nintendo has made it clear that the system will launch in 2006 and that they will release more details near the end of 2005.

Nintendo Revolution games will use the standard DVD format
Backward compatible with GameCube games
WiFi
Super Smash Bros 3 launch title with 8 player support
Via download and emulation, Revolution will be able to play every Nintendo first party console game ever made - but NOT GBA or DS titles
Nintendo is currently convincing third party software developers to allow their older games to be available for download
Will play normal movie DVDs.
Nintendo will offer a FREE online matchmaking system.
Will utilize 12 cm optical discs, self-loading media drive
512 MB on-board flash memory.
Optional SD memory cards
Games will be cheaper to produce than PS3 & Xbox 360 titles

I still woder how the controlls will look like? o_O

Nintendo will offer a FREE online matchmaking system.

The only problem is that the downloads will probaly cost money, and we still don't know if the Revolution will be easy to make games for. So far Tecmo and many other companies have stated taht the Xbox 360 is very difficult and costly to make games on, and the PS3 is much easier.

Well, if many people complain about the controller(and many people are) It may change, plus, none of us knows actually how the controller will feel in our hands.

I agree with some critics in calling it the 'Devolution' considering its backward compatablity, likewise, every good nintendo game won't be avaliable to play as they are all GBA or third party developed.
