I got 5000 i think it was cause i was going "four hundred ninety" in my head then i added the ten and in the back of my head i was suppose to remember it was in thousands, but that screwed me over.

Ahhh, I guess it's easier to do it when you're reading it off the computer. In real life, you write down the numbers in that order, cover them up, and reveal them one by one to the person you're tricking.
That way, the person can't double or triple check, and they're trying to make themselves look smart in front of you by finishing it quickly. So most people say 5000. Even a couple of my teachers fell for it XD
To all those who thought it was 4100... Either you've read this before, you've checked it twenty times over, or I'm not giving your intellect enough credit
To all those who got 5000 (or some other number)... I fell for it too. Although I guess thats hardly a consolation
Try it on your friends and family in RL. See if they fall for it.

Its because at the end when your supposed to add 10 to 4090 your brain gets all wierd and you think its 1010 O_o

Wow... another topic of mine has been brought back from the dead. Unbelievable.
I tried this on my maths teacher. He umm- well, didn't get 4100 or 5000 to tell the truth. He got 4200 something. Yeah, something heheh.
