Yerp, I speak english fluently and chinese (cantonese)...fluently enough. I understand it better than I can speak it.

Also, this past year (7th grade) I've been taking the first half of Spanish I. I've forgotten a whole bunch of it already -- and it's only July.

I'm bilingual...I can speak English and Hungarian fluently. I also know a fair amount (she says) of German, and a little bit of French and Latin...but then that's just learned from school.

Well, I know some Spanish, but I am no where near being fluent in it. So I guess English is my only language. :)

I know English fluently, French partially (4 years so far), Urdu/Hindi almost fluently and Danish barely.

I speak some French. I've been taking it for 6 years. I'm nowhere near fluent, but I can understand quite a bit of it.

I had a conversation with Mat/Pyro Parrot a couple of weeks ago in French. Then tried to go to sleep. I wasn't able to, but instead of thinking "I can't sleep", I was thinking "Je ne dormi pas".

o.O

I'm just wondering. If you're taking a second lauguage, is it because you want to, or the school board forces it into your head.

Which would mean 'I don't sleep' or 'I am not sleeping'.
'I can't sleep' would be something along the lines of 'je ne peux pas dormir' but i'm not sure.
