There was a case of a mule giving birth not too long ago, and as it has been mentioned, a liger gave birth as well. They're actually in the 2006 Guiness Book of World Records as the biggest cat.

Well.

Horses have 64 chromosones (or pairs or something. Frankly i'm not a genetic person type biologist thing. I only know the numbers) or something and Donkeys have 62. Technically because their offspring doesn't have an even number, because the offspring will end up with 63 whatever thingies, thats why the offspring can't mate. Because you need an even number to be able too.

But I guess in a few freak animals... maybe they get a bigger number?
