Burn cream?
Usually there'll be a packet of it in those ready-made first-aid kits.

A lot of cold water/ice.
To be honest, thats the only thing i've ever used thats really made a burn feel better. (even sun burns - cold showers).

Unless the water pressure is strong enough that it hurts when it hits your poor burned shoulders. **experienced that**

do not use cold water on a burn. use room temp water & if anything fill the sink & soak it, running water might hurt.
also the burn will hurt for awhile and might blister and peel.
definately get some burn cream tho.

do not use ice on a burn, which could compound skin damage.
Immerse burned hand in cool water (50f-60f) until pain lessens usually 15 minutes to half an hour. If the burned skin looks normal or only slightly red after soaking, covering is not necessary. Repeat soaking if pain returns. Apply Bacitracin (Or a similar antibiotic ointment)twice a day starting the second day if your burn is still red. Do not pop any blisters if any forms, let them go away on their own.

Cold water is ok on burns after some time with room temperature.
You can also buy burn cream.
Just go to a Pharmacy and ask them what the best thing would be. They exist for a reason O.o

I was just about to say that. Using cold water on something that just became really hot is such a degree difference, it will explode. Well, not really, but it'll hurt a LOT more.

Aloe Vera is good if the burned skin isn't open or something. Not sure if it helps healing, but it feels better.

Also, you might want to dip a cloth in cold water and wrap the cloth around your hand until most of the pain goes away. Then wrap your hand in gauze, if you have any handy.
