'Cause loads of people were disappointed to discover that the other '
Baking!' thread was about the weather, here, I've made you a thread for talking about food and recipes (for food).

Wartime Cake(AKA Depression Cake, Wacky Cake, Ridiculously Easy Vegan Chocolate Cake)
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
6-8 tablespoons cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoon vinegar
2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cup cold water
Mix the dry ingredients. Add the wet ingredients. Stir until smooth. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-35 minutes. Makes two layers of a two-layer 9-inch or 8-inch round cake, or one small sheet cake. When cool, frost it.
You can also make cupcakes from this recipe without altering the ingredients or how they're mixed.

Orange Snow
1 3 ounce package orange or orange pineapple Jello
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup boiling water
3/4 cup orange juice
1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind
1 egg white
Dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water in a bowl. Add orange juice and rind. Place bowl of gelatin in larger bowl of ice and water, stir until slightly thickened. Add egg white; whip with rotary beater or electric mixer until fluffy, thick and about double in volume. Pile lightly in dessert glasses or pour into an 8 inch square pan. Chill until firm about 3 hours. If pan is used, cut into rectangles before serving. Serve with Birds Eye Quick Thaw Strawberries or sweetened sliced fresh strawberries, if desired. Makes 5 cups or 6 servings.

Anyway I found out this recipe about Orange Snow when we were discussing the orange snow after someone asked about eating orange snow so I went off looking for Orange Snow recipes and this one was on the top of the list when I did my search on Google.
That Wartime Cake looks like a good recipe for to me try

and I love the fact that don't have to break any eggs to make it.

I love baking and cooking. I always seem to come at the right time to eat the remains, that otherwise my mum would throw out or wash up.

I'm not vegan, but my sister is, and I've got friends who avoid animal products for various reasons. I got this recipe from my sister, and I think it just tastes awesome--not like when you have to make substitutions with regular recipes, which sometimes has unpleasant results.

My secret ingredient is Rosemary and Oregano.
To everything that has an even vaugeley tomato based sauce.
I also use very little sugar (About a quarter recommended) out of habit, because of my Dads diabetes.

Aww, thanks! I just didn't want to accept any praise for being vegan when I'm not.
