Movin' Out

Tue Sep 06, 2005 1:38 am

That's right, I'm moving out of my parents' home. Its weird. I should be leaving tomorrow night. But this won't affect my light attendance of PPT much. The library will still be open in the daytime and I can still go there. When I get my own connection, it will be less of a hassle and I'll be plugged into my MUDs again. :P

Its a nice apartment with one bedroom, a fridge, an oven, a dishwasher, apartment-sized washer and dryer and a living room perfect for my things. I'll have access to a fitness center, a swimming pool, and a tennis court. Even better, I'll finish my book series in peace, get a better job, save on gas and grow up. I'll miss mom, dad, and one of the dogs. But its better than skulking under their roof. I can skulk under my own now. :roflol:

Ooh... congrats. I can't wait til I can move out, I have been wanting to for a long time! Hopefully I'll be able to next year, when I've finished uni and have a proper job :)

*just read Nessa's post*
Hehe, I'm so in the same position! Job first... then a car, finding a housemate and finding a house.

Congratulations! =)

ooh, you're writing a book series? I didn't know that, awesome!

I'm taking the first step toward moving out in just a week and a bit, moving on-campus at my university. I'm REALLY excited.

Anyway, congrats, good luck moving and such =)

shoo I'm milking my parents for as long as I can. Plus all the money leaves when I pay for college. With what I have left after classes are paid for I'd be living in a cardboard box. I think I'll save the little I have left over to put towards a future home and perhaps a vacation every now and then.

I'm a girl in our culture it's common to stay with the parents until you marry and then the pervy that is your husband takes you away to his lair and hopes never to see the inlaws :). However he who marries me be warned, my sister lives a block away from home and I will continue with this chain until the whole neighborhood consits of only my parents, my sister and all our kids and our kid's kids and so on and so forth

Moving out is so great. Once I entered university, I quit living with my mother completely. I switched betwen living with my two brothers when I was home from school for the summer or winter break (why wouldn't they just let me stay in the dorms? :p) Then back in 2001 I got my very first apartment. It's very nice to have a place to call your own. I can't wait to have some financial stability to be able to buy a house. ^_^

Good luck on living on your own. It's a very exciting stage in your life.

I have about a year to go until I might move out, when I go to college. The reason I say I might is one of my "last resort" (aka safety) colleges is UT Austin, and if that happens I'll just probably live at home so I don't have to use so much money.

... Er, on second though, I might now. Traffic in Austin is a nightmare. x_X

Congratulations, and good luck! I think it must take a lot of planning and independence... I still have 3 years until I finish high school, though!
