Before the Thunderstorm

Thu Sep 01, 2005 1:45 pm

Before you ask, this isn't the camera gone funny. This is what the sky and the back garden actually looked like before a massive thunderstorm hit last night at about 7:30pm.

Look how yellow the sky is in that picture. It was so weird and it looked like some sort of yellowish-haze was in the air.

This last picture is the most spookiest one, to me. Look at the block of apartments/flats and look at how dark the sky is, considering it was still meant to be light outside.

You should see the Kansas sky before a tornado. It's green. Like the color of lima beans in low light.

It's eerie as hell when the sky gets all weirdly coloured right before a storm. It's even worse when it seems like all of the birds have stopped chirping, and all of the traffic has ceased.
I can remember a particular occurance when I was about 10 or so. I was standing out in the back yard, in this oddly-still, strangly-coloured world, and it just felt like we were on the brink of the apocalypse.

That's exactly what my brother said. He said it was like the apocalypse. It was so spooky and eerie.

Augh! When I ws in fourth grade thee was a MARSIVE storm,...I had to walk hom in the green, apocalypsey sky. And it took me about 8 times longer to get home than it should have; the wind kept blowing me backwards..

The closest I've seen to that (well, aside from the photo, which is AWESOME :D) is a lunar eclipse, where the moon turned blood-red. Which, come to think of it, is in the Book of Revelations somewhere.

Actually, I came here making the mental equation "thunderstorm = lightning = highly symbolic tarot card" and thinking you were one of my own, a maddeningly cryptic person constantly making Harry Potter references.

But my disappointment was outweighed and then some by the AWESOME PHOTO OF IMPENDING DOOM.

**suddenly realizes exactly which card you mean**
**freaks out**
**runs off to find her deck**

Ok, now I'm confused about the whole Tarot thing. And what's an Apocalypse, again? (I have a general idea, but I don't really know what it is exactly)

The first and second pictures actually like nice... the sky I mean. It looks so bright and beautiful.

The last one, as you said, is scary =P.

Great or total devastation of Earth. Basically the ending days, or something that will wipe out the totally earth as we know it. I believe that is what it is.
