Porzellan-Puppe

Well, I'm back from Germany, and I really enjoyed it. =) I got three pairs of trousers, flip flops, and... -drumroll-

A doll.

She's really beautiful. She was 177 euro, and I thought... um... £121 ($218), quite expensive, maybe I should just walk past her... and then my dad asked if I was too young for dolls, I was like, no! And then he said he'd get her for me because she was limited edition, and apparently he hardly ever buys me anything, and it's quite special.

So I ummed and ahhed because I'd have to transport it back to England on the plane, but eventually decided that I would quite like her, so I got her. Then I got another shock, because she had been reduced from 244 euro, which is £166 ($300). So she was a bargain.

Now, pictures. YAY!

Image

How I packed her for the plane journey, and how she will remain packed until I can find a glass case for her.

Once I've taken the foam and unattached accessories off. There are cardboard section you slip over her neck, body and legs, as you can see from the picture.

Image

Just out of the box, and Anubis holding her up for everyone to see, in her bright orange top, taking a blurry blurry picture of blurriness.

The doll lying on my parents' bed.

Thats something that will last you a life time though.
I've travelled a fair amount, and I know the type of situation of which you speak, the debate to buy her. Heh. In my first day in Athens I bought a "alabaster" *cough PLASTER cough* pegasus. And then I had to lug it all around Greece with me... and then on the plane. And it was big! with lots of fine little legs... (well four) and breakable bits. It survived the journey home to Canada.
Yup.

I've also not bought things, and then regretted not buying them. Sucks when that happens. But now i just need to go back to Britain and Italy so I can respectivly pick up the Little Metal Knights on horseback from Hampton Court, and the stuffed fox toy from the toystore in Florence.

... but yay! Dolls freak me out.

Dolls used to freak me out, but I've got so many in my room now, they cease to do so. I just think of her as my little German girl. =) -sends little metal knights on horseback from Hampton Court- =)

I should've bought one but I was like "nah. Too expensive" it was 10 pounds. *sigh* And I came back with like two hundred bucks. It was the first day in Britain though.
But now I know better.

*nod*
See, my room? It's just covered in model horses. Those freak some people out. Mwaha.

You can come out now. She's packed away again.

Or just look at the nice first picture. =)

I doubt you're going to use that information for positive purposes.

Very cute and elegant! Aaaand expensive ;)! I got a doll when I was across the country last year and it was pretty expensive for being around eight inches high, she is very pretty and poses on my dresser.

Poor Anubis, everyone's afraid of the doll, or trying to turn it into a killer. <_< >_> Personally, I think it's quite beautiful. Expensive, but when you're on holiday, I feel it's okay to spend the money on something special, especially if it's something you likely won't be able to get elsewhere. I'm currently regretting the fact that I didn't by myself a Santon doll while I was in Provence many years ago. I did get one each for my mother and grandmother though, so I get to look at them whenever I visit.

It's my duty to warn everyone about them :P

It is a very nice doll. I just wouldn't want to have it in the same house as me while I'm asleep.
