Hehe, I figured I'd be gone -- I'm not a very homely person.

Oh well, it was fun. :) Good luck to the rest!

I'm still in?!?!?!?!?!?!? :o
I thought for sure I would be fired, since I spent so much money, and it wasn't furnished that well. o_O
Well, I'm looking forward to the next task, and congratulations to the others who are still in! :D

Task 7 is up. I apologise for the lateness. However, this shouldn't take you very long.

So for task seven, we have to write a newspaper article?
How long should it be?

The Faeries of Faerieland are planning a revolt against all other worlds of Neopia to break away from the land and form their own country. One of our own reports has been reporting directly from Faerieland on this issue.

Why are they doing this you ask? The Faeries feel they have been overworked and underappreciated. One Faerie we interviewed, who wishes to remain anonymous had this to say: "Why shouldn't we revolt against Neopia? The Neopians depend on us so much, and we get nothing in return. We ask them to fetch us an item, and they demand that we make their pets stronger. Hah! We'll see how long Neopia holds together without us Faeries in it." Even Queen Fyora accepted our request for an interview. "Faerieland really is the foundation of Neopia. Look how much we do. We run the Wheel of Excitement, the Hidden Tower, the Daily Crossword, the Healing Springs, and not to mention the Employment Agency which gives many poor pets Neopoints in their pockets."

When asked about their plans on how they will revolt, Fyora refuses to give any information saying "Knowing you Neopians, you will be plotting to ruin our plans. The day will come when we see fit. Now begone!"

The mystery remains when and how the Faeries will revolt, but many important figures around Neopia are taking necessary precautions. Coltzan's Shrine has been closed until further notice, Turmaculus has been moved to a new secret location, the Snowager's doors have been sealed shut by a non-resistant magical spell, and the Training School is now refusing training to any pets thought to be involved in any way with the revolt. "Faeries truly are powerful creatures, and I'm not helping make any faeries stronger than they already are," the Techo Master had to say about closing his school to all faeries.

Faerieland is now also limiting its use to anyone not from Faerieland. The Hidden Tower is only selling items to Faeries, and word has it that Fyora has stocked some of the most powerful weapons Neopia has ever seen. The Wheel of Excitement refuses to spin only unless touched by a Faeries touch, and the Employment Agency is permanently locked to anyone not of Faerieland decent.

More on the Fight for Freedom from Faerieland in tomorrow's edition. Look for interviews with Jhudora, King Skarl, The Brain Tree, Illusen, and more.

It can be in the form of a newspaper article. And it has to be longer than 2 paragraphs.

Tax Beast turns himself in!!!!!!!

The notorious creature called the Tax Beast, wanted through out Neopia for "taxing" unsuspecting Neopians, turned himself in late yesterday evening.

The Chia police issued a statement: "The Tax Beast turned himself in of his own accord. He has accused himself of intimidating Neopians, and stealing their Neopoints by claiming they owe taxes. He did not reveal why he turned himself in, but he did provide a full list of his victims. He says 'I'm sorry for any undue stress I might have caused. I am willing to repay any and all Neopoints I stole, provided I am locked safely away in jail for a long time.'"

Once word spread, hundreds of angry Neopians gathered in front of Chia Police Headquarters, demanding their Neopoints back. One angry Neopian, who refused to give her name, claimed the Tax Beast had "taxed" her of over 100,000 Neopoints.

"He better give me back my money! I was going to donate that money to my guild, instead, he came along and STOLE it!!"

The talking heads quickly started speculating about why the Tax Beast had turned himself in. Some said perhaps his conscience finally reasserted itself, and the guilt was too much to bear. Others postulated that, based on his comment about being locked safely in jail, that he was on the run from some person or persons yet unknown.

Some took this idea even further, saying that the Tax Beast has been in league with the notorious Adam. (Adam Powell, the elusive head honcho, has a huge stash of Neopoints rumored to be over 11 million!) They think that the Tax Beast crossed Adam, and is now on the run, hoping that hiding in jail will keep him safe from Adam's alleged "freeze ray."

The Tax Beast has refused all interviews, so all this speculation must remain speculation. Attempts to reach Adam were unsuccessful.

I am planning on writing an article about soccer, and it going to be in the style that you would find on a soccer website, so I am not planning on stating that the player(s) and clubs involved are in fact soccer player(s) and soccer club, becuase if you were reading it you would know anyway. Is this okay, or should I consider writing it in a different style?

I'd go with something else or at least state the names, clubs etc... Because r4che1 and I have to read it, and I don't know anything about soccer.

i think you've misread what hellyer meant. i think he means can he write an article about the soccer club, but he wouldnt name the specific club or the fact that it was about soccer as the 'target audience' for the article would know about it.

if this is the case then i think it would be ok, maybe you could put an intro paragraph to the post thats not the article that states that, but it might be best to try and come up with another idea.

I did answer his question however it didn't stand out as much as I thought it would. I bolded it to let you know. However, I think going with another idea would be much better.

This article is for the latest addition of Neopian News, one of Neopias leading newspapers:

Plans for NDL

Wednesday, the eighth day of Gathering, year six: The Neopian Sporting Association (NSA) has unveiled plans for a National Deckball League (NDL). Chief Executive of the NSA Steven Shoyru said he had long been planning for a Neopian Deckball League and now with extra funding from the Neopian Government, his long term dream could become a reality.

The NDL, which is scheduled to kick off sometime in the beginning of year seven, will consist of the following 14 teams (listed in alphabetical order):

1. Brightvale Bashers
2. Central Shakers
3. Desert Dreamers
4. Fierce Fearies
5. Haunted Hounds
6. Krawk Kings
7. Kreludorian Crashers
8. Meridell Mavericks
9. Mystery Island Magic
10. Roo Island Rebels
11. Terror Mountain Tricksters
12. The Neopets Team
13. Top Tyrannians
14. Virtupet Viruses

Steven Shoyru released a statement at a press conference held at the Neolodge in Neopia Central earlier on this morning:

“We are delighted to be able to announce that plans for a Neopian Deckball League have been approved by the Government and all separate states of Neopia. This is great news for sports in Neopia and for the public of Neopia as well. Games will be played all over Neopia and will be accessible to the public. Each team will consist of 7 players on the field and a maximum of 7 other players off the field. Game halves will be 30 minutes long and the team with the most goals at the end will win. You will get three points for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss. This is the basic outline of how it will work.”

When asked about his reasons for developing the NDL he stated that his hopes were to expand sport in Neopia and make sport more easily accessible to the public. Currently the two main sporting events are Poogle Racing and Turdle Racing, with the Annual Gormball Championships, Pteri Flying Championships and Acara Aquatic Festival also appearing on the sporting calendar but only as one day annual events. The NSA believe the NDL is the first major step in expanding sports in Neopia

The Neopian News will keep you updated throughout the week as we find out more details about the NDL. Watch out with interviews which each team to find out what they will be doing to be the Deckball champion of Neopia!
