I'm sorry, but this statement really makes me steamed. It sounds like people are getting into these wars now just to get really expensive gifts. So you're excluding people and it's really unfair.

Aye, it is the thought that counts. 
I don't really think he meant that as an official rule you had to have over 10k to give something, though.
