Pig Latin Lessens (fiay ouyay ovelay igpay atinlay omecay)

Sat Sep 11, 2004 12:31 am

Elloahy Hello

The basics of pig latin.

You take the first letter of the word and put in at the back

Ex: Great ---> Reatg

Then put 'ay' at the end

Ex: Reatg ---> Reatgay

TO translate, do the opposite of above.

First, translate this.

Ellohay tudentssay oodgay orningmay

Then translate this.

Hi, my name is [insertnameinpiglatin]

Anyone who knows it already can help me teach.

For those "advanced" students who know pig latin, but are not that good. Here is a paragraph. Please translate into English.
Ellohay. Ymay amenay siay Egazay. Ellway, ouyay robablypay readyaay newkay hattay, ollay. Nywayaay, ontinuecay otay ecodeday histay essagemay. Koay. Yebay.
-Egazay

I would try to translate it, but I already know Pig Latin. A big compliment to my friend who taught me! However, I never could get how to convert words like 'once' into pig latin...

You can translate this, too:

Otay earnlay igpay atinlay isay eryvay implesay. Ustjay aketay hetay irstfay etterlay ofay hetay ordway, anday utpay itay inay hetay ackbay ofay hetay ordway. Terafway atthey, utpay ay-ay atay hetay enday. Oweverhay, erethay areay omesay ordsway atthay oday otnay ollowfay isthay uleray.

Bonus quiz: Tell me the word/words I did not know how to convert.

EDIT: If that was a bit too long, tell me, and I'll change it into something simpler.

I know pig latin! Translate this into English:
Otay oryay otnay toyay ebay? Atthay isway ethay estionqay.

I thought it was the first sound that you moved to the end, not just the letter.
As in great --> ate-gray
I've heard it both ways though.
