Shane looked at the shadow ball thingy that he was forming in his hands. "well, i guess i have always had this power." He said, "ever scence i can remember. it kept me alive while i was growing up." he sighed. "but it didnt always help me. i would be called names in school, and get beat up a lot, but, thats another story..." he said, trying to change the subject. "basically, my powers are the best at night, but they are still pretty powerful durring the day. i cant describe my powers, but here." he said, lifting a pen off the desk, it had a dark glow around it. "thats a small example of what i can do."
Tue Jul 20, 2004 10:12 am
Turai stared in amazement at the pen floating above the desk.
"Awww... when I do psychokinesis, I don't get a cool glow..."
She pouted.
"I want a cool glow too."

The boy had been leafing through the book, not listening to a word they were saying. The book had helped him before, it would help him again. He stopped and read a passage, then closed the book and stood up, "We're in trouble, another one's coming."
Tue Jul 20, 2004 9:23 pm
Shane laughed a Turai's comment. "i guess it is kind of cool..." he said, half to him self. Then looked at the boy. "another one what? earthquake?" he asked. "those dont scare me."
Wed Jul 21, 2004 8:56 am
Laruna stared at the floating pen in wonder, and grinned at Shane.
"Well, since Light is the opposite of Dark, I should be able to do something similar."
Concentrating hard on the pen, she focused her powers on it, and gradually the dark began to fade to make way for a quite bright, yellowy glow. She smiled.
"I can't control my powers so well right now though, since the sun has been hidden by the clouds. When it shines out, I should be able to do more stuff. I've always felt stronger on a sunny day."
Wed Jul 21, 2004 4:13 pm
He looked up at Shane, his peircing emerald eyes starting straight through hers, "This one should, it's going to be big, very big," then he looked away, "But it shouldn't be this big. Something's happening, something's causing it. I had this feeling with the first quake as well, we're not even in earthquake country..."
Wed Jul 21, 2004 9:32 pm
"He's right.' Kaila said. "The ones before this were just Foreshocks. This next ones going to be the main quake, and then after that there will be a few aftershocks, with something else..." She closed her eyes, trying to think.
Sighing she gave up as she created a small ball of lightning. Every once in awhile a small bolt would flicker out, then would go back in.

Iaran turned her head impatiently towards the Earth boy, "Yes, we all know that something abnormal is causing the quakes, haven't you been listening to a word we've said? That is why we must begin our journey tomorrow, for the sake of the world. Much worse things are happening all over it, and we are the only ones who can stop it. I can try and calm the room down during the quake, but the rest of the town and my house will suffer dearly. But before the quake comes, tell me, what is your name boy and what powers of earth do you posess?"
Thu Jul 22, 2004 4:02 pm
The boy turned to Iaran and his eye's flashed, "Do not presume to teach me mortal!" then his eye's softened and he shook his head, "I'm sorry, I... that happens sometimes. My name is Darin, I can control the element of earth. The earth speaks to me sometimes, and tells me things that are happening in distant places, it also tells me things that of the past, things that no one else would know. After my parents died, I lived with the earth, and she took care of me. We formed a bond so strong that sometimes she speaks through me... I think she might have done that just a minute ago."

Iaran blink calmly at Durim before bowing and holding out a hand to shake. "Greetings, Durin of the Earth. At least you understand the importance of your powers and the task, and you have a grand title. I am Iaran of the Psychi ((Um, the realm of the mind and psychic powers I guess))."

(I will be gone for about two weeks. Can someone please take care of my character/characters until I get back? I do not mind who, just make sure they don't get left behind or anything. Thanks.)
Sat Jul 24, 2004 2:25 am
Turai frowned.
"So now I don't even get a cool title? Turai, Water girl. Yeesh, I sound like the person who hands out bottles at halftime."
Sat Jul 24, 2004 4:03 am
Iaran turned to Turai and giggled. "You must train everyday and go through many hardships before you may get a title Turai. And I am sure, that by the end of this adventure we will all have titles. But for now, I can give you a temporary title, to make you sound more formal. You may be... Turai of the Waves."
((Lol, the title kinda sucks, but it's the best I could come up with. The rest of you can make your own titles if you wish.))
Sat Jul 24, 2004 10:30 am
Turning to Turai, Laruna giggled too.
"Well, at least 'Turai of the Waves' sounds better than 'Turai, Water girl'." She grinned again. "I wonder what I could call myself? 'Laruna of the Light'?" She stopped talking, and yawned. Was she really going to sleep at Iaran's house tonight? Most of the people in the room seemed pretty nice, but some she had doubts about. Who could she trust? She looked away, wondering what to say.
"Iaran, is it possible that powers could...well 'overlap' each other or something like that?" she began. She continued, wondering how to phrase her question. "Both Darin and Kaila feel that another quake will be coming. However, it was only Kaila and Turai that probably knew rain was coming. Kaila knew both because her element is Weather, but Turai couldn't have known that an earthquake is coming because her element, Water, doesn't have any connection with that." She paused, wondering if she was making any sense. "Do you get what I mean?"
((Yeesh, Runa should stop rambling. *slaps her*
Oh, and I'll be leaving for a month, too... *points to sig* ...I don't know whether someone wants to 'look after' Laruna...just, like Twizz said, I don't want her to get left behind...))
Sat Jul 24, 2004 11:00 am
"Laruna the Loony sounds more accurate." Turai giggled to herself, then turned her eyes to the ceiling. It was mostly smooth, but dotted with tiny specks of mildew.
"Your roof's been leaking."
