Surviving Newbinators by dlebel

When I was a newbie, I had a difficult time in the battledome. I found myself losing most of the time. I was thinking: “What am I doing wrong?”. It took me time to find out what was happening. This story will help newbies find out that they don’t do nothing wrong, it’s the newbinators that are abusing them!

What is a newbinator?

The newbinator deceives its opponent by sending pets with low stats (15 HP and less) fighting in the battledome with very powerful and expensive weapons. They fight opponents with the same STATS as theirs and they win every fight without efforts.

Neopets Battledome

The Neopets Battledome has been the home to L33T battlers for years. From well known names such as HROBI and HYNFAERIE, people have made their mark on Neopian history through the battledome. Also a place where Neopets plots are centered around, the Neopets Battledome allows your cute Neopets to wield weapons and attack in aggression while looking super cute and cuddly.

The beginning

Neopets weaponry and armor were rampant in Neopets before the Battledome made an appearance. In actual fact, the Battledome was something that was promised on Neopets for quite some time and it took a number of years (shall we say) before it was finally released to the public.

How To Beat Punchbag Bob by Stanley_Steamer

First, purchase unlimited multi-use weapons. I would recommend two scarab rings but if you are poor two lost desert daggers will do as well. In fact, any weapon, even super cheap ones (as long as they are unlimited use, meaning they won’t disappear) will work, it’ll just take slightly longer.

Then, enter a fight with Punchbag Bob and select your 2 weapons and choose fierce attack. Do not press go yet.

Then, paste javascript: function one_submit() { return true } into your address bar. Press enter once and nothing will happen, then click and hold the go! button. Start to press enter rapidly or hold the button down, depending on your keyboard speed.

Freezing Up by battledoming101

To all those who have played Neopets or may currently do so, prepare to probably have your views on the entire game changed. This article, especially for hardcore players such as your battledomers, traders, or other rich entities, will challenge everything you’ve ever known.

First a question: How many of you know someone who has been iced? I’m sure most of you know at least one person. Now how many of those people claimed an unfair icing? Again, a fair amount. Now I’m sure some of these people have legitimate claims, but the rest may have slipped up at least once which resulted in an icing.

Battledome Strategy 101 – Lesson 1 by Jadeasahi

Lesson 1: The First Turn Freeze

The first turn freeze is a strategy employed by Battledomers early on in their careers, and takes them well into the high end game. At the lowest levels, this is attempted with unreliable freezing, but inexpensive, abilities and weapons such as: fiery gaze, snowglobe staff, and the frost cannons, to name a few options.

The purpose of the first turn freeze is to render an opponent helpless for the second round of combat, allowing the attacking player to get their damage through completely unblocked. Typically this attack will consist of the highest damage weapons in that person’s arsenal with fierce or berserk attack. Honey potions are probably the favorite item to use unblocked, but are expensive. Other weapons in this family include Jhudora’s Potion, Battle Potate, Cake Bomb, Ummagine Battle Muffin, and Ummagine Bomb; there is a long list of once-per-battle high damage weapons. Also in this situation, attackers will typically use very high damage multiple use weapons that are easily blocked, such as the Attack Pea.
