Volsan or The Sultan is a yellow Yurble introduced on October 15, 2006. He is a promotional character for General Mills' cereal and doesn't appear in any other context. Therefore, some parts of his story are rather vague.

What is known is that Volsan has spent his entire life searching for the location of a magical lost city, because it is said to be filled with valuable items and unimaginable riches. However, time is running out for the Sultan to gather the information he needs to solve the mystery of the lost city. The pieces to a secret map to the city have been scattered around the globe and Volsan needs help assembling them.

What is left in the dark is of what Volsan is the Sultan, what city he is looking for (the focus lies on the treasure it holds) and what is meant with "time is running out". However, the Volsan Plushie states he is a "desert sultan", meaning that his realm lies in a desert, possibly the Lost Desert. Similarly, it can be concluded from the map that the city he is looking for also is located in a desert, again possibly the Lost Desert. Still, Volsan's story only serves as an introduction to a quest in which users (Canadians only) are asked to help him find the missing twelve map pieces. Additionally, users can also feed their pets for free or enter virtual codes found in the cereal boxes in order to receive small, random prizes.

Users are asked to help Volsan find all twelve pieces or a map leading to a lost city. Finding the pieces is a simple, yet long task. One has to visit twelve pages in order, sometimes having to do a little extra like sending in a score. Volsan aids the user by giving hints a the quest's main page about the next step.

How to get the map pieces:
  1. Visit the Sultan's Quest main page.
  2. Visit page one of the Buzz comic.
  3. Feed a Neopet in the Sultan's tent.
  4. Send a score at Buzz's Honey O Throw.
  5. Send a score at Fruit Flavoured Fallout.
  6. Visit Cereal Adventure and click on the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shack at the top left of the map.
  7. Visit page three of the Buzz comic.
  8. Visit Cereal Adventure and click on the Reese Puff Town a bit right to the center of the map.
  9. Send 2 scores at Lucky Charms: Charmed Life.
  10. Visit page five of the Buzz comic.
  11. Visit Lucky Charms Webisodes and click on Webisode 4.
  12. Send a score at Nesquik: Up, Up and Away.

Trivia[edit]

  • A few days before the Sultan's Quest was released, a "hidden NP picture" displaying a countdown could be found on Neopets
  • Entering a code from the cereal boxes also gives a chance at getting the Space Faerie as a challenger.
  • Volsan always carries a staff with him that seems to double as a walking cane and a symbol of his status as Sultan.
  • The Sultan's Quest is one of the few sponsor offers available for a certain country only, that cannot be tricked to work for foreigners by changing their profile.
