Turmaculus
The Turmaculus is a gigantic Turmac and the king of all Petpets. He was first introduced on September 4, 2002. Legends say that the Turmaculus' gigantic appetite caused him to continuously eat and grow until he was so large that he could no longer move. He can now be found in Meridell, where he sleeps 23 hours a day.
The Turmaculus serves as a daily for those users who have Petpets. User can have their Petpets attempt to wake up the Turmaculus in order to earn exclusive items, Neopoints, and other prizes. User should use caution while waking the Turmaculus, since he will occasionally eat a Petpet, causing it to disappear forever.
Waking the Turmaculus
The Turmaculus can only be woken up during one randomly-selected hour each day. Users can attempt to wake up the Turmaculus outside of this time window; however, they will always fail in their attempt. In order to wake up the Turmaculus, the user must first ensure that their active Neopet has an attached Petpet. Next, the user must select a method for awakening the Turmaculus from the available drop-down menu. It is unknown if the selected method has any effect on the outcome of the awakening attempt. There are ten available methods:

If the user successfully awakens the Turmaculus, one of the following outcomes will occur:

| You have awoken the great Turmaculus... and now your pet is a little stronger thanks to Turmaculus!!! |
Your active Neopet's strength increases by one. |
| You have awoken the great Turmaculus... and he has decided to grant your petpet a level!!! |
The Petpet that woke the Turmaculus gains one level. |
| You have awoken the great Turmaculus... AHHHHHH!!!! Turmaculus ate your petpet! BURP |
The Petpet that woke the Turmaculus permanently disappears. Any Petpetpet attached to the eaten Petpet will also disappear. You unlock the Turmaculus as a Battledome challenger, and you receive the Turmaculus avatar. |

Trivia
- During the events of both the Champions of Meridell and the Battle for Meridell, the Turmaculus was moved to a safer location, making him unavailable to users. A large, Turmaculus-shaped patch of dirt could be seen at his normal resting spot at this time.
