On March 15, 2006, the game was given a major update that included improved graphics and a new game engine.  When the player starts the game, they will see an empty round table and a robotic hand positioned at the edge of the table.  Depending on which options have been set, the player can use either the left and right arrow keys or the mouse pointer to move the robotic hand around the edge of the table.

The disappearance of Krawk Island occurred on 20 July 2011, following sightings of an enormous tentacled beast around the island on 11 July. All that was left of the island was a single shanty occupied by Gavril McGill, who tasked the player with finding where his home island has gone.
