Talk:Sponsor Game
Linking to Lonely Topics[edit]
I was just noticing that most of the lonely topics are Sponsor Games and wondered what the thought was regarding linking to them from here to get them off that list, and to also have a more concise listing of them for anyone who wanted one. --Cath 09:55, 3 Jun 2008 (CDT)
- I'm indifferent about what should be done with the sponsor game articles. They're notable in the sense that they occurred at certain times, but I really wonder how important it is. Linking to them via this article, in order to make a full list, seems a little unnecessary, due to a category already doing that, so...yeah.
- My apologies if I'm not too helpful. I'm a little out of it due to my trying to catch up with things. :S --Jacob 12:32, 18 Jun 2008 (CDT)
- Personally, I'd be all for deleting all of the individual sponsor game articles. They really seem to "clutter up" the Neodex to me. I can't tell you how many times I've hit the "Random page" button and been taken to a poorly written stub for a sponsor game. In addition, because sponsor games are taken off of the site so quickly, it is difficult to verify the accuracy of these articles. What do you guys think? --Emeraldosprey
- I agree. They are short and pointless... they are time sensitive, so once the game is off the site, there's no real need for a record. I think that putting them all in a list like the PPL list is all that is required. All the games tend to say the same thing, anyway. I know this will greatly impact our article count but I think it's better to have good articles rather that silly and pointless ones. --Cath 19:46, 18 Jun 2008 (CDT)
Articles which relate more to official Neopets info then? I'm feeling alright with that at the moment. Still, I think there should at least be a mention of the sponsor games with in the main gaming article Games Room (which does need some work...of course). We could redirect the data here to that article, then delete all other sponsor game articles (along with the links to them), and finally the category that connects them together. How is everyone on that course of action? --Jacob 07:56, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me! --Emeraldosprey
Will begin the process of taking down the articles...gonna take some work with over 200 of them, that's for sure. Not counting that some of them are linked to other articles. Oh boy. :P --Jacob 20:41, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
