Festival of Neggs 2011

Players helped the Negg Faerie build her festival.

The Festival of Neggs event in 2011 began on the 6 April. Kari needed help from the players to set up the Festival, and sent them on four quests for materials. When the quests were completed, the festival proper began on 20 April. Kari hid sixteen Neggs around Neopia, and players had between the 20 April and 5 May to figure out Kari's riddles and find the Neggs.

In this festival, there was a collaborative goal to collect five million Neggs. This target was missed.

During this event, the NC Mall hosted the Neggstravaganza for the second year, and three additional quests.

Quests

Kari asked players to help her set up the festival. To do this, she sent them on four quests.

Quest 1

Kari	Oh, you will? That would really help a lot, thanks. The first thing I'll need is some basic building materials. There's a shop - you know, the one with all the bamboo? That'd be an ideal place to start. We don't have much time, though, so you'd best be quick - the festival will be here soon!	Go to Neopian Furniture.
Shopkeeper	Welcome to the Furniture Shop! Have a look around and feel free to let me know if I can help you with - materials, you say? Well, there's a vendor who stops in a couple of times a week. The foreman, I believe he's called. That's who usually supplies the raw materials we turn into furniture. If you'll leave me your contact information I ca - whoa! Okay, I guess you must be in a hurry. So long!	Visit the Foreman at the Hall of Heroes in Altador.
The Foreman	ARRGGH!!! What do YOU want?!? ... I've been so busy I haven't even had a chance to eat today, so I honestly couldn't care less about your lousy materials. Go AWAY!!!	Visit the Chocolate Factory and purchase Delicious Chocolates for 0 NP. Return to the Foreman.
	I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU T - oh hey, what's that you've got there? For me, really? Alright, what's the catch? Materials, eh? Fine, there's a bunch of wood out back. You can go ahead and take some, but you've gotta chop it for yourself. Now, if you don't mind, I'll just be turning my attention to these lovely chocolates. *glares*	Click on the word "wood." 	You're back? It's about time! Since you got what you needed without causing a minor catastrophe, I've decided to make you something from a few pieces of wood I had laying around... wait, what? You dare ask for ANOTHER favour?!? Why, you ingra-... oh, I see. Sure, I'll answer your question. *sigh* as far as the tools you're seeking, your best bet's to find a place with the heat capable of forging them. Now, begone! *throws box of partially eaten chocolates at you*	Visit Lampwyck's Lights Fantastic in Moltara.
Lampwyck	Hot enough in here for you? Hehe. So, how can I be of service? ... Tools, huh? You mean, like, hammers and nails and such? I believe I have some of those things down in the basement. I've got to stay up here and mind the shop, but you're welcome to go and have a look down there. It's far too dark to just go rooting around, though. 	You head down into the basement. The shopkeeper was right; it sure is dark down here. OUCH! That hurt. Ugh, cobwebs! *cough, cough*, thank goodness he gave you the lamp... Straining your eyes to look around with one hand extended to swipe away any more *surprises* you might encounter, you finally find the tools you're looking for and head back up the stairs. Whew! 	There you are. *thunderous sneeze, followed by sniffle* I should've warned you, the dust down there's out of control. So, did you find what you were looking for? Uni Shopkeeper	Well, well... look who finally showed up! I got tired of waiting for you to return, so I went ahead and put in for another order of fabric. Oh well, I won't have to order more for next month. While you were gone, I gathered a few scraps and made you a shirt, in case you might actually return. 	Something you might want to keep in mind... speaking as someone who knows a thing or two dozen about decorating with fabric - you're gonna need more than just some cloth to get yourself a real fabooth. My suggestion would be to find a Neopian with a truly majestic sense of style. Someone other than me, though - I've already been more than generous with you, and I wouldn't want word to get around that I'm some sort of pushover. Okay, now get going... Gelert Farmer	Welcome to Meri Acres. How are the berries treatin'ya today? Eh, you win some, you lose some... what's that? You'd like to borrow some punnets? I suppose I wouldn't mind; it's not like the berry-picking business is jumping right about now. Don't cha think they're rather plain, though, the punnets? Perhaps you could dress 'em up a little... Charlie	After what feels like hours of rooting around in the foulest of conditions, you manage to strike the mother lode, stumbling across a lovely bundle of ribbons. How fortu - wait... eww! It seems the ribbons are all covered with disgusting stains! Think quickly: there must be someone in Neopia with a potion powerful enough to restore the ribbons to perfect condition. Kayla	Welcome to my potion shop! How can I - whOA, what is that SMELL?!? Sorry, I'm going to need a moment... whew! What did you need again? A potion to remove those putrid stains? Negg hunt

Between 20 April and 5 May, Kari hid special patterned Neggs around Neopia. Each day, the player could find a new one by solving Kari's riddle. There were four Neggs of each of four different types of patterns, making sixteen Neggs to collect in total. The riddles would direct a player to a world, but not a specific page. They had to explore that world until they found the Negg, which was not the same for every player.

When the player returned with all four Neggs of a certain pattern, they could choose one of four prizes. Collecting all sixteen Neggs yields a bonus item, the Hollowed Negg Tree Background. Additionally, those who found each Negg on the day of its release received the Festival of Neggs site theme.

Community Challenge

TNT issued a challenge to festival participants: If they could collect 5 million Neggs by May 5, they would each receive a special prize. Patterned Neggs, plain-coloured Neggs found through festival-specific Random Events, and the Neggstravaganza all counted toward the total. However, the goal was not met and users received Dung Pizzas instead.

Neocash activities

Quests

To help Kari decorate the Festival, the player could buy unpainted fence, fountain, and garland trinkets from the NC Mall for 100 Neocash, and buckets of paint for 25 Neocash each. Returning to Kari with two buckets of paint and the unpainted trinkets, the player received the painted trinket, a wearable Neocash item, as a reward.

Neggstravaganza

Players could find 20 Neggs hidden by a special lake in the NC Mall. Each one was numbered one to twenty. Every day between 11 April and 30 April, one of the numbered Neggs could be redeemed for an exclusive Neocash prize.

To collect the Neggs, players had to buy Neggstravangaza baskets. Each one allowed the player to collect one Negg. Each one could be bought for 200 NC, or in packs of 5 for 500 NC, 10 for 900 NC, or 20 for 1,700 NC.
