The Librarian put the player to work for Brynn.

The Finneus J. Scrollbottom Auxiliary Surplus Archives is a library in Brightvale. It is named after Finneus, the Lenny who runs the Altadorian Archives, and presumably holds the books that do not fit in Altador's branch.

It is run by an angry Yurble.

Plot summary[edit]

The Faeries' Ruin[edit]

Main article: The Faeries' Ruin

Brynn visited the Brightvale library in order to find out more about the artefact Hanso had stolen.

The player could find the library by refreshing at the Brightvale map. The Librarian mistook the player for the intern he had requested, and put them to work organising the library so that Brynn could find her book.

The player was sent to an unorganised bookcase. Each bookcase had four shelves, each shelf labelled with a different topic. The books were labelled with one of thirty symbols that corresponded to the thirty different topics, as well as a number, a coloured geometric shape, and a coloured spine. The books had to be put in a different order depending on which topic they were.

At each book shelf, there was also a set of books that didn't belong on any of the shelves. These belonged to the room either to the left or to the right, and the player had to throw them there. They only belonged in one of the two rooms, if there were thrown to the wrong one, or if one of the books that belonged on the player's bookcase was thrown by mistake, they'd be thrown back.

Behind the scenes[edit]

The angry Librarian is a reference to the angry Yurble stock character from previous plots. The foyer of the Brightvale Archives has Roman numerals hidden in the design, including an 'X' on the floor. This may be a reference to the similar scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

The Brightvale archives reappeared in an Advent Calendar animation on 14 December 2014.
