Note: Most of my 'warnings' in my talk page are seriously outdated, (from 2007) and have since got over them :). I mean, its been a long time. - User:Journey to the Lost Isle-er 16:12, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

External links and wiki links 101

In your recent edits, i noticed 2 errors...

  1. When you link to a Neopets TCG link, you don't link to the image, put the page the image is on, like this
  2. When a wiki link is placed on an article, only one link to that article should be on the article you are editing.

I hope this helps you in your future edits. --Jacob 20:19, 4 Jul 2007 (UTC)

A note to Jacob's point two above - you would always link a 'see also' note. --Macbeth 14:40, 5 Jul 2007 (UTC)
Just wanted to remind of point two.--Demon 18:36, 10 Jul 2007 (UTC)

Show Preview and edit summary

Notice...

  1. Please use the "Show preview" button if you want to see how your edit is progressing, and do not save then edit again. This will make navigating this articles and the recent changes history easier.
  2. For every edit you make, please write an edit summary, explaining what it is you added/taken out, along with reasons if they apply. This makes understanding what you did to the article easier and again, easier to navigate the history.

Looking forward to your future contributions. --Jacob 14:07, 9 Jul 2007 (UTC)

Again, please use the edit summary when making your edits. --Jacob 15:01, 13 Jul 2007 (UTC)
Please use the edit summary when you are making your edits. --Jacob 21:31, 16 Jul 2007 (UTC)

Refrain from extreme creation

please restrain yourself in creating new categories. Articles is one thing (which you should probably discuss with others considering), but categories need to ALWAYS be discussed with an admin before creation. In the future if you think a category or article should be created, discuss it with other editors or admin, and no unnesessary work will need to be done on your part. --Jacob 20:51, 9 Jul 2007 (UTC)

Again, PLEASE refrain from extreme creation without admin approval. You are just making our work harder to keep up with what you are creating. --Jacob 16:31, 10 Jul 2007 (UTC)
Please don't delete things from you talk page. You've been doing really good lately things for the Neodex laetly, so please don't do things that will get you in trouble. :) --Emerald Osprey 16:03, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Payback?

I think you have some explaining to do. It's usually bad practice to edit an editors user page in a way that's destructive (which works against the user page design instead of helping it), but you also wrote in the edit summary "Payback" in terms of a description of what you did. I'm just worried if this is a bitter sort of payback or a joke type, because in either case, it doesn't look very...proffessional. :S --Jacob 21:27, 9 Jul 2007 (UTC)

All I can think is that it is in some way a response to my comments on Talk:Item, judging by the way it quotes me. But... I still have no idea what... Eh? --Macbeth 00:19, 10 Jul 2007 (UTC)

Do not clear your talk page

Never clear your user talk page. it's important for this to be here so others know what messages you have received, and for you to converse and speak pack with other users. Clearing your own talk page can be seen as an act of vandalism, especially when others (and I) are trying to converse with you. It will get you blocked for a certain amount of time to stop you from clearing it. :(

Please understand that i do appreciate your contributiuons to the NeoDex. You have been improving since you have began, and your interest in editing is very noteworthy. But i find it very odd you choose to clear your talk page rather than type a reply to me. :( --Jacob 21:40, 9 Jul 2007 (UTC)

Accept Admin Decisions

When admins have a discussion, and they make a decision from that discussion, going against that decision is seen as act act of vandalism. If you want something to be changed back to what they originally was, you start a discussion about it, and do not revert the changes an admin makes. You have been warned. --Jacob 18:45, 10 Jul 2007 (UTC)

Wikilink heads-up

Just a quick heads-up, when wikilinking, try to only have one link to one different article per article. As Jacob says above, "When a wiki link is placed on an article, only one link to that article should be on the article you are editing.". --Macbeth 01:54, 18 Jul 2007 (UTC)

Things never to do

Just thought i would point a few things out...

  1. Never image link an image anywhere but from Neopets.
  2. Do not edit an info box or template unless you know how to fill it out proper.
  3. Never wiki link a section title, especially when the wiki link is right below the section title.

I hope this help your future edits. --Jacob 00:37, 22 Jul 2007 (UTC)

The "Games" Category

Individual games will not be labelled with the "Games" category, but all the sub-categories (action, puzzle, etc.) of game types it belongs to (see my talk page for more information). --Jacob 16:35, 15 Aug 2007 (UTC)

Edit summaries

Hey again - just a quick note, could you try to keep your edit summaries PG-13? Thanks. --Macbeth 00:10, 18 Jan 2008 (UTC)

Please stop adding plainlinks tags

Hey, I just wanted politely ask you to stop using the "plainlinks" tag to remove those little arrow symbols from the end of the external links. Those little arrows let visitors know that they will be leaving the Neodex if they click on that link. As such, we should leave them the way they are, okay? Thanks.
