Let's say I abandoned Neopets two years ago. I just got bored with it. I ask my fellow PPTers, Is it worth signing back up to start playing again?

Its changed, but i can't say much of it is for the better. The rich got richer and further favoured by TNT. If your into customisation then theres the NC mall etc. Depends what it was that you used to enjoy / caused you to quit?

I loved earning the neopoints and going after the elusive painbrushes. I also really enjoyed plots. What is NC?

Heh, I have the same priorities NC is neocash - basically you buy neocash with real money, and then spend it on wearables only available from the NC mall. A decent analogy would be Microsoft Points for Xbox Live.

As for plots, Adam and Donna are no longer in charge or even employed (i think?) at Neopets, so plots are a little different. Last one wasn't too bad, but you've missed it, and Daily Dare, now. I think the Altador Cup is yet to come though.

They've started to use real cash for things on neopets?!?!?!?!?!11 Maybe that kind of thing is why I quit in the first place. Adam and Donna are gone?! I've heard a lot about the Doctor Sloth plot, though..

Yup. Theres also "Neopets Premium" which is another cash based service. The Dr Sloth Plot was alright, a bit rushed, not up to usual Neo standards, prizes have just been released though, you really missed out on those Dunno, best way would be to try it for yourself - I came back at the start of December for the Advent Calendar, n I'm still here

I would say give it a try. Neopets has changed a lot not necessarily for the better either... and it's really up to you to decide.

Content-wise, I believe the site has gotten better in recent years. They don't favor the rich any more than they ever did. Neocash is annoying, but it's not required in any capacity to do well in the game and there is no Neopoint incentive for buying it.
