Sasuke has to survive so he can have his final showdown with Naruto, and then Naruto will save him through the whole crying-lonely-little-boys-calling-out-to-one-another-and-finally-finding-a-friend mind-trick that Naruto's used on every other emo character so far...
except maybe it will be some Naruto-Itachi brotherly love-hybrid thing -- you got to wonder when Itachi's powers will kick on in Naruto, and which powers those are.
DM, I hate to break it to you, but
I think Kakashi-sensei will die before Sasuke... I hope not, but he's kinda in the way of Naruto becoming Hokage.

It wouldn't surprise me either, but I'd loom into a state of depression that only comissioning artwork of him and my Naruto fancharacter would cure. XD

Just read episode 423: Kakashi vs. Pain. Wow, that was actually a decent chapter.
In the middle there, I thought, "Holy crap, I was right -- poor DM" but I felt like it was a bit soon to off Kakashi. But if Pain can see everything else, why didn't he see Kakashi's handsigns to make his clone?

There was nothing about last week's cliffhanger -- why doesn't Tsunade just throw Danzu in jail already? I'm sure they'll figure out a way to communicate with Naruto eventually -- after the battle's over.

It's kind of hard for me to remember what happened in each without going back and re-reading them all myself... Here are some Cliffs Notes:
Sasuke and his gang thought they got their beast's host, but it was some kind of clone (formed from the beast sacrificing part of himself) -- they all survived the battle (of course). The beast's brother, the Raikage, is out for revenge now -- I think that was left hanging for now.

Naruto's learning sage techniques (and mastered them after several boring chapters). {Does anyone else think that sage * kage bunshin will make Naruto ridiculously strong vs. everyone else?}

Meanwhile, Pain's descended on Konoha and is raising holy hell. This probably started in 419 or so... and is still ongoing. This would be a good place to start reading.

Meanwhile, Danzu killed the frog (I think -- you know how much the art sucks) right when he was going to call Naruto back from Frog Mountain to join in the battle against Pain (422).

And, well, just read 423 for yourself -- it was good compared to a lot of recent chapters.
That's what I remember -- I could have some details wrong.
