Hope you made it through Zeta OK, Siniri! I have a friend who recently moved to Mississippi and they lost power. Not surprising, though, as they're near the coast.

Sounds awful, P! I too hope the kiddos are better soon.

Good luck, Sinri! Hopefully you are not hit that hard and power stays on!

Day 1 - 0 matches, BLB, 4k. Probably will not spin on Saturday :)

Unfortunately, Littlest P is still sick. He's going to have to miss his belt testing today and the belt ceremony and fun stuff tomorrow. He's pretty bummed about that, but they'll let him test next week since he's sick. I'm hoping he wakes up well tomorrow, otherwise things for Sunday will be a mess. Mr. P and I are supposed to be half of a quartet, and if we still have a sick kiddo, we'll have to cancel and the other half of the quartet will be bummed. He's been sick for a week now, so I'd think he'd be better by now, but, ugh. Yay colds and younger kids. When they get snotty, they get SNOTTY. (Okay, so I know this is par for the course, we've just had so few illnesses since early March that I'm like....oh, yeah. This mess. At least we're boosting our immune systems, right?) My oldest has still avoided getting it. Either that, or he's like Mr. P and myself - we both felt a tad off for half a day, and that was it.

On the plus side, it's actually NICE out today - only 70 even now, earlier it was a little cooler - so we've had the windows open all morning and are flooding the house with crisp fresh air! It's a shame that tomorrow, we're back to the 80s...

I spun anyway today... Day 2, Matched 2.

I am not planning to keep track, since we may or may not get reset tomorrow. If not, then I'll probably reset with Siniri.

Sorry to hear about littlest P still being sick. Glad that they'll let him make up the belt testing when he's feeling better! Also glad that the rest of y'all are getting and staying well!

I've managed to continue my streak but didn't take note of my spins (I spun on my phone the first two days, and was rushing to spin on day 3). After today's spin, it says I'll receive the 100k in 3 days... so I guess that means Wednesday? And then day 1 will be Thursday.

P, I hope little P is feeling better and you guys were able to do your quartet. Hopefully the next tropical storm stays away from you.

Hmm. So, I should not spin on Wednesday?

Hopefully, you (Siniri) have weathered the storm and the kids (P's) are feeling better!

My pumpkin this year was inspired by the gherkins...

Littlest P is just about over it. We did manage to do the quartet, but there was a lot that went into making it actually happen. Thanks to our next-door neighbors having a ridiculously loud party from 9pm-12:10am the night before, Mr. P and I were practically zombies. I'm still not recovered from the exhaustion. Headache that followed the music, yes, but exhaustion, no.

Blue, your pumpkin! :roflol:

Here's hoping that Eta avoids us. It's already a Cat3 and looking to get to a Cat4 soon. Current predicted paths don't look like it'll get to us, but there's no telling. We'll have to see.

19.5k today. Two days until my reward, so yes, I think missing Wed. will sync us up, Blue.

I posted in the L&L conversation that I got power back yesterday after ~77 hours without it. Some people here are complaining. I guess they're just not used to it? But they understand when it's an ice storm... I know they're looking at the same outage map as me, and that alone should help them understand. In my neighborhood of ~200 houses alone, there were 5 different outages noted. And in a 1-mile radius of my house, there were at least a dozen outages that affected similar numbers of homes as mine (120). It takes time to assess the situation, remove all hazards, and make repairs. And when our lines went down, a transformer also blew, so it's more complicated than just "remove trees, rehang wires."

I still need to pick up my food from my friends' basement fridge and freezer. I was thankfully able to salvage nearly everything. Probably Wednesday, so I'll have time to really organize and catalog what's there. I've got a few mystery containers that I'll thaw and try to figure out what's in them. Some may belong to a prior housemate. If I can't figure it out, they'll be tossed.

Edit: 19k.

Tomorrow (Wed.) is 100k. I.e. skip day for Blue (if he wants to sync up).

P.S. Vote if you haven't already! If you voted absentee, check your state's voter page to confirm that your vote was actually accepted (mine was).

I saw in the other thread, but I was tired when I wrote in this thread yesterday. Still am. Glad you got power back. My friends in Mississippi lost it when it hit and didn't get it back until Sunday afternoon. Mass power outages are no fun, and it always seems like they should work faster, but they do have a process they follow. Hopefully you'll get your food back and everything back to relative normal soon. :)

Day 5, matched 2, 7k... I will not spin tomorrow (unless I forget).

Glad you have power again, and you did not lose your fridge food!

I voted, and confirmed that my vote was received and will be counted! Have not missed the chance to cast my vote since 1920!*

I firmly hold that voting is absolutely your civic responsibility. And, if you do not vote, then you are not allowed to complain about the outcome.

*Well... never missed one since I turned 18, anyway ;)

I will politely abstain from any talk about the election other than to say that I did vote (in person) and that I believe it will be some time before we know who will be the next president.

I shall not spin today...

I have always held firm that I will never discuss/disclose who I voted for. I am happy to talk to people in person about the election in general, but will never, ever disclose who I vote for. I also am of the firm belief that nobody else should ever to tell anyone else for whom they voted. It is a truly personal decision and nobody else's business. Period. And, everyone must cast a vote. Period.

Note: The warnings yesterday were directed as a reminder to the "rest of the world", not those posting above. As you can likely tell, it is a passionate topic for me ;)
