December "Events"

I stayed up and managed to get some of each. The apples went fast. If I remember correctly, they started around 88NP and vanished in minutes. I only snagged two (and donated one). Buying at the bottom of the SW is a good idea. With the site lag, the top items are gone before the page loads.

I also dropped a dozen Skieth Plushies in my shop at a meager 28.5 each, and they too went in seconds.

The apples are actually still buyable. I did have one offer of 100k, so I accepted it. (And a junk offer, so I blocked the user. If someone's making unfair offers, I don't want to accidentally accept something like that, and I figure if they do it once, they might do it again.) I'm going to recreate trades, mention they're still buyable, and that I'm willing to accept SW prices. It's easier for people with slow connections to make a trade than a shop purchase.

I also had 250k in my shop till; someone bought 5/10 of my Maraquan Bed Time Stories. It looks like prices stabilized below where I put them, but I don't feel too bad for that person since they're obviously a speculator. Time to reprice everything...

My shop did well overnight on Tyrannian Plushies. I was also able to unload a regular Grackle Bug I had bought at inflated pricing before realizing everything was Maraquan. I thought about pricing it higher than I paid, but I feel OK about unloading it for exactly what I paid

Heh, I lost out some today. I made the mistake of trying to catch a Maraquan apple right after they went unbuyable. Looks like the stamps re-crashed in value, too, after getting up to 60k last night. Ah well. I guess I should've waited until the morning, but this time Baby P woke up to be fed at 20 till midnight NST so I was actually up when it all happened.

Current prices (7:45 am NST):

Maraquan Bed Time Stories: 45-50nps
Maraquan Faerie Tales: 40-85nps

Yeah, rushing at midnight is only good if it's a rare item like the pencil case, or if you're a hoarder and want to sell high. I wish I'd put more stuff in my shop and priced at the then-current prices on the non-apple items, but that 250k from those books makes up for that "mistake." I've sold most of my apples (now going to sell the last one). I've made over 1M NP net from this event between yesterday and today (having 7 apples to sell helped).

Hmm.. It's 1am and I am still at work. I figured I'd get this one over with tonight before heading home. The bamboo chair and the Bean Bag of Nova are the spendy items at the moment. I currently have one extra Bean Bag of Nova and two bamboo chairs and three Abominable Snowball Light Strings if the prices go crazy and anyone needs them.

I saw the prize and thought of you, Blue. Glad to see you were able to complete the quest. I had everything in my SDB today.

As of right now, everything is still very buyable, so I put my few extras of each in my shop (the kelps were victims of my rubbish avatar acquisition, but I did have 7 and 11 of them). Only one extra bean bag, sadly.

I apparently had none of the items in my SDB. I did, however, find a fresh bamboo chair in my "new" neohome, and several of the kelp items in my "classic" neohome. No lights or bean bag, though.

...also found an outdoor pirate flag. *headdesk*. Wish I'd thought about neohomes several days ago...

Chair is currently going for about 4k, lights for 1k, and the bean bag for 64k. Blue, I'd rather my NPs go to a friend than a random stranger, so if you're on at some point before around 9pm NST, I'd love to buy one from you at whatever they're going for at the time (provided I don't snipe one for a ridiculously low price before then or get one through dailies somehow).

I am surprised that the Brightvale University Mug is going so cheap on the SW. Simply because the cost to get it is so high, considering how much one must spend to donate the 5 items. It presumably also won't be available any other way or day other than today, I say.

That's a really original idea for a collection, Blue! Have you ever submitted it to the gallery spotlight?

So, the content people of TNT will be away until the 5th January (when I have to get my first ever filling, boo hiss). However,

others such as Support, Monitors, as well as Programmers will continue to work behind the scenes. We have been focusing on trying to get the site lag issues fixed - you may have even seen some changes here and there. We will continue to focus on this during the downtime for New Features.

That sounds promising - although if they're not going to update new features with their bug fixes, the programming department could be playing office-chair jousting for all we know.

I saw this, and I'm intrigued.

I'm crossing my fingers this is access to Lutari Island. It's not like it wasn't a paid-only area before, anyways, since you could only get to it through their phone thing.

I know - paid access to an area will be frowned upon by most Neopians. As long as TNT keeps updating the rest of the site at the same rate as before, and doesn't focus too much on any paid-access area, and any items in said area are no trade or NC, I don't see that it would be entirely a bad thing. Of course, odds are against that. Of course, they might give some sort of NC prize out through advent calendar, or the event...and who knows?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Anything else would be speculation, anyways.

Ok. So I'm still up. Two very long, awful days at work. However, Today's quest is done.

As of 12:18, the bottom two on this list are already hard to get. I have two puppets parked on the TP if someone needs one. Thankfully, I had one "box" in my SDB. I probably had the others in there too, but I snagged the others while checking pricing. They were quite affordable at that time.
