I now have piece 7 (and at least one of each thingy now...), thanks to getting 3 orange grundo chairs (wiped out my supply, unless there are some in my shed), 2 pottery shard daggers, and 3 chia clown punching bags. Thankfully I'd won one from battling the Chia Clown yesterday and had one in my SDB, so I ventured on the boards and helped a few others (shenkuu ink, spork, and ghostkerchief banjo), and didn't have to pay for the last punching bag. Yay for kind Neopians!
Item list has apparently been updated. It seems like there have just been more items added. JN is currently NOT adding these items to their list, as people have been raging that they are the ones causing inflation. (Uhm, the lists will be available somewhere else anyways?)
I've been lurking on the boards and trying to compile a list of added items.
ETA: JN has taken down their lists and replaced it with a list of dailies you can get the items from. Sigh.
* Can you believe I did not have the stamp or usuki set in my SDB!
Some items are going up in price but with JN not adding the list, the price gougers will have to find there own lists to work from. So far the Helm-mounted Laser Beam (around 4000 nps) seems to have risen the most, but has not seen the massive inflation like the first lot of items.
I don't have any nps to even try and buy what I *might* need or really any interest in trying to buy the many items now added.
I have to spend the rest of my time playing games to raise some nps just for the next quest. Training has now stopped unless I can win some codies on KQ.
I for one, can't wait for this part to be over!

This time I was asked for 1 peach snowball, 3 evil snowballs, and 2 cherry gummy korbat tails (which I only had 3 of). Still haven't had to buy anything since the first time.
ETA: I was asked for 2 peach snowballs, 3 blue ixi plushies, and 1 skeith inspired treasure map. Of course the only item I was asked for 3 of was the one I had only 1 of in my SDB, but I only paid 30 NP total, so it was not bad at all. I probably could have made some decent NP by selling the formerly high-priced items, but I didn't want to be a part of that. What's a few hundred thousand NP compared to doing the decent thing?
I'm now 1-2 pieces away for all 3 things we're building, so I'll have the choice of getting a smaller prize soon, but I'll wait and see what my choices are before deciding. Speaking of prizes, I really need to get back on pricing and using AC prize points...
Yellow Snowball x1 8 np Shiny Purple Cowry Shell x1 SDB Golden Moon Comb x3 2 in SDB, 10 np
Total 18 nps.
10 hours 15 mins to piece #8

Component 3 prize: Dice of Ultimate Probability (Toy)
There is speculation on the 'Build All' prize.
A shopwiz search has turned up a background that is not yet available. Some think this may be the prize. Or it could be an additional prize at the end of the event.
I have component 3 finished, but I am also waiting to see what the big prize will be.
I've got 6 done now, with 5 1/2 hours before I can get the 7th. Oddly enough, I have not managed to finish a component yet, as I've gotten pieces 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Watch, I'll get either #1 or #2 next.
Most of the inflation is back down to a minimum. Even the laser beams are back down to the 100-200np range, which is reasonable. I don't think having the list posted would've hurt inflation all that much - if anything, it lets the hoarders know what they can flood the market with now. I saw one person on the boards upset because they'd've loved to put out 500 of one object sitting in their SDB at for instance, 9nps (it had inflated to 10 at that point) to help keep the prices down. Ah well. I'm selling all my stuff back off now - most of it I bought for 10nps or less (though I'm losing out on the stuff that had inflated to 100nps), and I'm selling it at the same rough prices as I bought at. I figure I'm not losing out (much), but definitely not gaining, and at least at this point, I'm contributing to keeping prices back down.
I've "finished" the first item now. I'm so glad you guys let me know that I shouldn't just "build" because the grayed out "or build all" would not have clued me in that I shouldn't just click "build." TNT, you really need to not rely on the utterly failed help system to post the rules for these things; you used to post the rules in a separate tab, and I don't think it'd be that much extra work...

...aaand I got piece #2. Officially the most pieces you can get without being able to build anything.

From what I've heard, there's actually information in the pop-up when you chose to build that would've alerted you to the fact.
ETA: I forgot, there was some info in the editorial about the event:
Why do I have a feeling that you guys are gonna be swamped with questions about the inflation of junk items? I AM GIVING YOU ALL MY BEST WISHES THAT YOU ONLY GET A FEW. ~shootingstar_23 Wish harder. (At least it was less than forty?)
Hey, TNT! Could you please do something about the inflation of certain items in this spaceship event? It's getting super ridiculous that items from Grave Danger and the Discarded Grundo Plushie are reaching unbuyable prices and many of us can't afford to do this event anymore. Oh, and please leave out my username. ~username removed It seems our item sink got a bit of a clog! We're tweaking the system and keeping an eye on it. The list of eligible items should now refresh much more often (meaning anything that moves out of junk status will be removed very quickly). We intended for the prices to go up a little bit so junk wasn't so worthless anymore, but eep, not to that extreme.
The dinosaurs on the dashboard of The Coincidence gave me warm fuzzy feelings. Thank you for the continued tributes to amazing series from the past! :* ~ospreypatronus *whistles innocently*
TNT, in light of the results of the current event step (at the time of this writing, massive inflation of junk items, sometimes up to unbuyable level), could we get clarification on what is considered false inflation and what isn't? It's been stated previously that false inflation is defined as groups of players working together to drive prices up, which is against the rules. However, what if multiple people are acting independently and buying masses of items to the same end, just working on their own? Is someone hoarding thousands of the same item and then claiming, "Okay, I have them ALL now, so I say they're worth 90,000 NP!" seriously within the rules just because it's not a group? Furthermore, is this sort of scheming behind the massive inflation of this week, or was it regular supply / demand mechanics? Please remove my username. ~username removed The inflation issue was our fault. We've adjusted some things to hopefully reduce the chances of that happening. Players that were acting alone (and thus playing fairly) in cornering the market found a way to play the economy to make Neopoints, and that's a perfectly legitimate way to play. If the items are actually selling to players for that amount, then it's inflation caused by supply and demand.
I find it very commendable that they acknowledged that they had messed up. Plus, it's clear the super inflation was not the intent - clearly some of the staff remembered CoM and also the Tagobo potion items.
I wonder if JN will change it's policy and post the lists after all? Since TNT has basically stated they're not going to leave items that super-inflate in the pot? Not like it makes a huge amount of difference, but it'd be nice for hoarders to dump all their excess right now.
ETA 2:
D'aww. Snarkie's around and helping out on the neoboards. Snarkie is awesome!
11 hour wait for my last piece (down to 8:45 now).
I am glad TNT put up a few questions about the quests, and especially nice to know that they are taking the extremely high-priced items out of the event.
Awww.... it was nice to see Snarkie on the boards. Funny though, that the problem was actually a mistake by the user and not an actual glitch. As I have seen a few people post that it has taken multiple refreshes sometimes for the items to be accepted.
I still need pieces 8 and 9, thanks to the event kicking off after I had to leave for work. I presume many are in the same boat as me, so I hope there's at least one more day left for this.
Today's morning quest: 1 pirate hook candy cane, 2 peach snowballs, 3 ubikiberry elixirs. Easy peasy, all in the SDB.
