Bonus: Tar Slushie (apparently -- never got the pop-up, except one that said there was an error, but it was in my inventory)

I was a bit slow today; I didn't get that the Magma pet was the reason the snow melted until I saw the prizes (because if he was that hot, wouldn't he have burned the lift chair, too?).

Bonus: Chokato Brucicle + Snowball

ETA: Checking the tumblr site, I found this (referring to the pant devil and rod of supernova):

they do this joke every damn year and I’m like vaguely impressed that they’ve kept it up so long

Don’t be. We put it in the code once a long time ago and maybe change the day number sometimes if we’re feeling wacky. So it’s just been there every year, waiting for the moment it can crush the hopes and dreams of every Neopian and feed on their delicious tears.
Just like Lawyerbot.

Bonus: Decorating with Lights

Today's animation was kind of gross. Especially when considering the prize. Ew.

I wonder which TNT staffer gets to record all the sounds for these things. They're kind of ridiculous.

Special Snowflake for me for bonus.

Siniri, your question has been answered...on Friday, actually. ;)
Good day, TNT! Firstly, I've really been enjoying the Advent Calendar animations so far! As a college student studying art, it's really been great! I was curious, though, if anyone in the office contributed their own voices to the sound effects in the animations, or if it was synthetically produced digitally. ~maverickdragonrider
Our sound guy (his staff name is Mr. Ears) did all of the voices himself! He records each voice to the animation and then "adjusts the pitch and texture to better fit the Neopet that is making it."

Wait, there's really a "special snowflake"? :roflol: I want to see the item description on that.

Oh, never mind. Son, I am disappoint:
There is something extra special about this snowflake... One Use.

I was expecting something like "We can't all be special snowflakes, but some of us actually are."

I feel a little better that he digitally modulates the sounds, but can you imagine having the office next to him? I would be giggling all day.

Today's animation is a reference to the Egyptian plover, which in looking up I discovered does not, in reality, clean crocodile teeth after all.

I've never really understood how we know all snowflakes have unique structures. I suppose it's to do with a very large number of possible configurations, but that's a bit dissatisfying to me.

There we are. Two disappointments today: crocodile teeth and snowflakes.

When I was in late elementary or middle school, there was a news article that someone had found two identical snowflakes. Apparently there are scientists who waste their time catching snowflakes on microscope slides, taking pictures of them, and comparing them (assisted by computers).

My bonus today was another something-something slushie. Today's was the grossest yet. I suppose tomorrow will be vomit, to take it up another notch.

I wonder if the slushie tasted salty, sweet, and kind of... fooey. I can't remember the exact quote anymore.
