.. but I kind of like it.

They redid all of the Haunted Woods maps...

Eh, I didn't see a need for an update. Wasn't those maps relatively new already? (not that I dislike old maps, quite the contrary) They were definitely updated within the last couple years. I dunno, I just hate flash maps so much... So I'm gonna file this under Don't like but I guess I'll get used to.

Ditto. Don't like it but I guess I'll get used to it. By the way: the Spooky Food and Scratchcards signs on the Deserted Fairground maps are switched.

I pretty much like it. But I do prefer the old design. However, I believe this will cause a chain reaction with all the other designs.

I quite like the new Deserted Fairground map--it seems a bit more organized (which may go against the point of a haunted carnival, but there you are). However, the new main HW map is ridiculously cluttered. There's far too much going on there for my taste.

And Faerieland continues to languish in neglect. When was the last time they updated that map? I'm thinking 2003, could be wrong.

edit: The new tentacompass in Fetch is entertaining enough to make me play Fetch. Once, anyway.

It does look nice, but I was surprised they updated HW and not like, Faerieland which is the map(s) most in need of a revamp.

Hopefully, this is just the start of art updates. Gormball is a bit painful to look at...



Seriously! Faerieland is like the redheaded stepchild of Neopets' lands. I keep thinking that they're saving the update of Faerieland's maps for a plot set there, but new plots come up, and no Faerieland setting.

It looks nice, it's just that there's such a large spot in the middle with no animation. Makes it seems somewhat lopsided. And why didn't Neovia get any animations at all?

Compared to this map, ALL the other maps need updating, though.

I guess I'm the only one who enjoys seeing old art?

I'm not really a fan of these new maps, particularly the main Haunted Woods map. It is just way too cluttered. It's a good thing I have everything bookmarked that I need

As for Faerieland, I'm actually hoping that's the next area that gets a plot - that could tie in with a new map design. A girl can dream, right?

Not liking flask maps too much- you can't open multiple links in new tabs, for example. Oh well, what's done is done.

Fairground=okay, I don't mind this change too much.

Me too. I usually hop from daily to daily via bookmarks (actually browse history dropdown in Opera) and just went to the HW on a lark after playing Test Your Strength . I'm truly surprised that I was the first to post the change here

The new Maps are alright, I prefered to older Maps probably due to nostalgia more than anything else but I'll get used to both of them... I'm not very good when it comes to Bookmarking pages (eg. I'll Bookmark them but then I forget that I've Bookmarked them and I'll end up going through all of the Worlds regardless) unless I can't remember a direct way of getting there (eg. Jelly World). The only real problem I have with them in the font... I can't tell if it's the colour or just the type-face itself but I'm having trouble reading it. -prods- I love the stylised affect and all but it's a bit of a problem, the size isn't helpful either. Meh.

i think i would exspect more after kiko lake and the space ship thing. they looked so good that this is just like ARGH! get it away!

I like the new maps. I think the ghost Meepits running across the main map are really cute. I agree that the map might be a little cluttered, but I think the art is a lot nicer. Then again, I've generally liked the Flash maps.

I agree with you all that the Faerieland map needs some help. Ick...it's so old.
