Yeah, so I have now saved up 940k and I am nearly there for a Lab Map. I'm wondering if they are worth it or not. Also, because I'm not at 1000k yet which is around what the whole lab map's price is, I'm hesitating whether to sell my Christmas PB now for 80k instead of waiting for it to turn 200k because the Lab Map will increase in price as well, so the earlier I get it, the better.

I know this probably isn't really the board to put it on, but I don't really want to make another thread, so, if you have a full lab map for sale/trade, please could you inform me. Thanks everyone!

What are you hoping for from the lab map? Do you want to use it to get a BD pet? Painted pets to trade/keep? I personally love the lab map because of the possibility of zapping some nice pets

I think it is worth it... but that's merely because I think it is fun to zap my pet daily.

In a year, my pet has gained about 175hp. Nothing else has gone up that much since other stats can be granted and taken away. They've gone up, granted, but not by leaps and bounds. My lab rat usually gets to level 10 before being reduced back to level 1. However, I have a lot of paintbrush clothing for various pets now because of the color and species changes.

I remember when lab maps were only like 500k.

I have a lab map, and I think that if you want it, get it now. And I'd wait to sell the pb, the lab map isn't going to go up that much in the next 2 months.

The map is pretty stable at 1 mil or so, for now. The Chirstmas PB may be given out through the Advent Calendar again, bringing it down to around 20k. I don't know if it will or not, but there is a possibility.

The lab is one of my favorite features of the site, so I think it's worth it. I've used it to train two battle pets who aren't anything to sneeze at (the current one is closing in on 800hp) and gotten some neat pets over the years, including a few avatar colors.

At the same time, I don't generally recommend saving up until you have enough for a big purchase, because you have to start over from 0np again which is never fun. I had that when I painted my first lab rat Darigan, and ever since have made plenty of big purchases but have never hit near 0np since. It's nice to just continuously save, and then on occasion say "Hmm, I think I'll buy [x] now!". Personal opinion, but plenty of people do save up until they have exactly enough so whichever you prefer, will work.

Yeah, I was thinking about starting from 0np because I've had to do that before from scratch like... 3 times? I got really fed up though. So, I think I might buy one when I reach around 1.1 million. I'm not gonna let it inflate anymore though

It is a good investment but remember it loves eating levels among other things LOL

I enjoy it for the fun factor. I only use it on pets I adopt from the pound and then return to the pound when they are prettied up. I don't use it on my regular pets because they are painted as I like and of the species that I like, and to raise their stats I get training.

Is there something else that you'd have more fun spending the NP's on? Battledome weapons or training? PB's? If not, then go for the lab map.

I think it depends on what you like to do on Neopets. Like Arka, I like to zap pound pets . However, if you like doing battledome stuff, then the lab map isn't worth your NP. But if you are going to get it, try not to wait too long. The price will only go up. Unless TNT decides to give out pieces again.

While zapping pets is fun, it can take a LONG time before you get the results you'd like. I've been zapping my acara for almost a month, and I've only gotten four species/colour changes (among other, unimportant things).

500k? I got my lab map for somewhere between 100-150k! now THAT is crazy! (and what's crazier is that I hardly ever use it now)

I was probably there when it was like 250k, but I just wasn't interested in it then.

I got my lab map right after it came out. I think it was less than 100k then - like, 9k a piece or something.
I have definitely enjoyed it. I love zapping my pets (all 4 of them have been through the zapper at some point), and if I could part with one of my pets (which isn't going to happen, as their names are too special to me to lose), I'd lab pound pets.
Since the more recent customization, I've quite enjoyed labbing and getting random paintbrush clothing items to mix and match. (My white bori has the island necklance and bracelets thanks to my lab pet).
I'd probably buy it myself even for the cost of it now.
