I know that this was a really simple step but i still liked it.
The interface could have been slightly better (the control was somewhat small to click, i would have preferred one that wasn't drawn in perspective. ) but that was mostly mitigated by the fact that the slider (thankfully) moved in clean integers. I love that it was procedural, you got to close the portals you knew were bad, they worked in an easily understandable manner.
I was strongly disappointed though, that when you found the pet-pet you just abandoned all of those other dangerous portals. I mean you just left it open there in fairy land to hurt other people who don't have the technology to close them. I (imho) think that it would have been better if the user had to close all of the existing portals and then open a new one for the pet-pets. That would also be better because there would be no way to get lucky or unlucky. Personally, in this case I'd rather get "unlucky" and be able to see all of the different portal types. I hope I didn't miss many.
I tried going back after i found the pet-pet and trying a different portal but sadly it wouldn't let me do that.
I am also disappointed that we couldn't have Deckar choose to fight the
Black Armored Guy. He did ask to after all.
Also I like the line "Ahhh!! It's the Horrible Black Void!"
