Hamlet 2
It was funny. I enjoyed it. I can't speak for anyone else since it was pretty... yeah. Just one last thing to say: Rock me sexy Jesus.

Half Nelson.
I liked it. Not a lot happened in it, but that was okay.

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army
Doug jones for vice president of the universe.
Honestly, the angel of death only had like 2 minutes in the whole movie and I reckon it was the most memorable thing.
Overall though, it was pretty silly and meh.
Wild Child
Emma Roberts cannot act.
Alex Pettyfer is good eye candy, and I reckon the car he drives in the movie is the only reason I stayed in the cinema and kept watching the damned movie.
It's basically a stupid chick flick that goes all out on the cliches.

HellBoy 2: The Golden Army
It probably says a lot about my hobbies that the moment I saw the Golems in the flesh (So to speak) I immediately began working out their stats for D&D 3.5.
I rather liked it personally, but it wouldn't be the first time I disagreed with the critics.
Mind, I also like DareDevil...

A Very Long Engagement
I bought it along with Amélie, La vie en rose, & Paris je t'aime when I was on a France movie kick, and its really good. My mother tried to watch it, and hated it, but she isnt into subtitles at all. Also because of the mystery nature of the plot, I guess the subtitles made it harder for her to follow what was happening and why.
Anyway, Audrey Tautou plays a lame (literally) woman during WWI. She can walk stiltedly, and plays up the severity of her condition when she needs something. Her childhood friend and now lover, played by Gaspard Ulliel (...who's ridiculously cute, btw) is sent off to war in the French trenches. News comes out that he has died, but Tautou's character refuses to believe it and searches for the truth.
Its got some interesting twists and a very romantically naive-but-actually-not feeling. Even the war scenes seem that way. There are parts throughout where Tautou's character will say things like "If I can beat his car to the curve in the road, he'll come back alive." Lots of "If this...then that" sort of things. Her character appears young & delicate, but she'd not, and its a very pretty movie.
Part of the reason I bought it was because of Ulliel, but that shouldnt be a main reason to see it. Tautou and others dominates in the amount of screen time, and Ulliel has relatively few lines. He manages to make you feel for his character though. You want him to be alive.

Mamma Mia!
Julie Walters totally makes the film worthwhile.

Pretty Persuasion - (Note: This movie is NOT for kids. Or preteens. Or most teens. Hell, it isn't for adults who are even remotely prudish.) I loved this film! It was shocking, cruel, uncomprosiming, and wickedly, viciously funny. Evan Rachel Wood gives a stellar performance as a 15-year-old aspiring actress/sociopath who convinces her friends to falsely accuse her English teacher of sexual harassment in order to get some media limelight. The teacher is played by Ron Livingston, whom you might remember as Peter Gibbons from Office Space. A must see for anyone who can take the heat.

Vantage Point - A very interesting, fast-paced movie with a very dramatic opening! I would really recommend this movie if you like action and suspense. I hope to watch it again soon

The Women - Say what you want, I thought it was a great movie. That being said, a lot of people will leave the cinema thinking the movie was stupid or "just a stupid chick flick" but in reality, the movie has a deep, personal message, "What is a woman's true identity?". I found that this movie covered ALL aspects within a woman's life ranging from child birth to the media's influence on teenagers, to adulthood to marriage to mother hood to aging and so on and so forth. Even issues such as adultery and homosexuality are discussed.
This movie is very philosophical as it conveys a message to all women, "Who are you? What do YOU want?". Personally, I find that a lot of women are bound by society in the fact that they take on roles such as "mother", "sister" or "daughter". Usually, you find men being defined in terms of their occupation or interests whereas women are thrown into the nurturing roles such as "mother" or "daughter". This movie questions this label and turns it upside down.
An interesting note, there are no men in this movie. There are definite mentions of men, but there are no men in this movie. And Bette Midler's character is also another subtly in this movie as she really brought the question, "Who are you?" into the limelight.
Overall, a great movie to show a class interested in Women Studies and the like.

I saw that movie last night, and I think my expectations were waaay too high.
It was disappointing. I love Steve Carell, and I love the Naked Gun kind of movies, but this one... Wow. It was pretty dumb. It had its moments, for sure, but overall it was pretty lame.
