I restocked a trinket in kiko lake carpentry, and wanted to put it up on trades, so i wrote this:

Quote:
Want this nifty trinket? Wearable by every neopet, this rare! trinket will look awesome in a maraquan pet! 40k=auto, i'll accept no less than 30k

And up goes the page telling me i'm using rude words.is nifty a rude word now? or maybe awesome? :o :o :o

I am really sad with their filter, blocking stupid stuff and letting pass adult adds, neopia is totally upside down!

O_o

Perhaps it's the "in" rather than "on"? Did removing "nifty" fix it? I remember at one point, the word "grape" didn't make it through the filter, because it contained "rape", I'm guessing. I think they fixed that one a long while ago. Maybe a glitch? I really can't figure out what might be offensive here.

It's not the nifty. I think i'll cut every word and see what they accept

EDIT:
i cut the "this rare! trinket will look awesome on a maraquan pet! "
and they let it through o_O

If I recall correctly, the filter tends to catch words with apostrophes. Something about HTML/Hexadecimal coding (same thing with the % not working for the shop wiz, as in searching for "100% fake uni hat" etc). They mentioned this in an editorial somewhere, I think...

Did the exclamation point have anything to do with it? Recently, "F5" was considered profanity (the board filters prevented me from posting it) but now it's fixed. o_O

Ah! I suspect that is it, the exclamation point. The filters may have assumed some coding was going to be used. I'd be curious if you removed the exclamation point if the text would be allowed?

I think the filters are seriously borked.
I had to completely redo my neoHTML because having everything including my username got a response saying "Do not use profanity".
