So how do you decide? I usually just go to view new posts unless I'm looking for something specific, in which case I'll hunt it down myself.

I used to just check the boards I went to regularly, but I've recently discovered the wonderfulness that is "View new posts". :) Now when I first get on in the day, I'll usually check around the whole forum. Then for the rest, I'll just refresh the new posts. :)

I usually go to the boards I normally visit: All the Neo boards, Misc Discussion, Misc Polls, Promo and Plug, Coco Isle.

I used to view board by board, but as I increased the number of boards I visit this approach made less sense. So now I view new posts.

I tend to look for new posts, but on the boards and not via the "new posts" link. I'm funny about first glancing to see what's new by location on the page, then actually going to look more specifically.
