Today I got up to level 14 with about 1/4 of the cards left when time ran out (I had to use the code in level 13). I've been playing that game for at least an hour a day since it was released... Anyone got any hints on how I can beat it? I already turn the automation off. I've tried writing down symbols, but I'm too slow -- I suppose I could get faster with practice.
Well, my KMII high score is 625 (without the cheat), and I'm not sure entirely where I could have shaved time off, so take my advice with a grain of salt...
But I try to work from one corner, in one direction - I look for a direction that has about 4 same-background tiles. Like, plaid, white, yellow, green, all on a red background. Then I go through the rest of the board looking only for those four (sometimes five) tiles. I eliminate them as I find them.
Occasionally I'll flash upon a couple of tiles that are identical around the same time, so I'll get rid of them and then go back to what I was doing.
But, like I said, I have no idea where I could lose those last 75 seconds. If you assume that I couldn't possibly get a higher score on the first 5 levels, that leaves 6-14 where you can find extra time. That's 9 levels...and I have to find 75 seconds, or an average of 8 seconds PER LEVEL, that I'm losing as I play for one reason or another. If I use the code, then it's only 60 seconds, but still...that's 7 seconds per level. And I'm not entirely sure that it's possible, for me anyway, to locate that time that I'm losing.
I requested this on another thread, but I'm going to ask again: does anyone have a level-by-level score recommendation that is based on their beating the game fair-and-square? As in, level 10, you should have 450 points, or whatever? Because I think that that sort of targeting would be very helpful to those of us still struggling with this game.
(As an aside, I am six steps beyond furious that TNT fixed the code glitch in the middle of the challenge)
