it's 1 am here, too. If I leave and come back tomorrow, will I have to start at the disolving test again??

NVM: I get it now. Each room has to have each puzzle solved.

Do you have your towel?

This may not be the most obnoxious and wrongheaded thing TNT has ever done to us, but it ranks pretty high up there. Complex, timed team puzzles with no built-in way of coordinating actions, or even communicating in anything approximating realtime? That's not challenge, that's inept design.

Sigh. Still looking for a station that a) has players and b) has players who know the bizarre, obscure things TNT wants us to do.

Room 104 could use another heat tester. :)

For Excel Users (I'm in Excel 2003 on a PC)

Leave A1 and A2 blank

In A3 put =(A1*A1 - A2*A2 + 160000)/800
In A4 put =SQRT(ABS(A1*A1 - A3*A3))

When you start. Drag the singularity to (0,0) and drop it there (make sure you click in the box!) After it does its thing, it will give you a number (in white under the now white blob) put that number in A1.

Drag the new singularity (the black blob) to (400,0) wait for it to do its thing and put the white number in A2

For the final singularity, drag it to (+/- a little) to the (A3, A4) <-- whatever numbers you have in those spaces.

I honestly don't know how you can do this on just a calculator. (sorry guys). I'll be checking back in ~ 1 hr, so if anyone thinks this is problematic (as in, neo will blow me up) uh, let me know?

It IS possible to do this on 3 regular calculators, (that's how many I use. :P ) but you have to be super-fast. There will only be up to 10 seconds left to lock in the co-ords.

3?! Sheesh! That's a lot!

...I don't even know if I have 3 physical calculators in my house.

I loaded it into a spread sheet, and neopets says it's wrong...and you'll need an absolute value around y if b^2 is greater the a^2 :).

Yes, we've done it successfully twice now (we just finished #652491336). Make sure you're using "x" and not "b" - you shouldn't be using "b" at all in y's equation.

At least three down, 300 million+ (on average) left to go...

[edit] "we" means the people talking in the chatroom posted earlier in some other page.

I use my computer's calcs. :) They can handle bigger numbers, and it's quicker and less cumbersome.

laurenb-I'm trying your formula now. THANK YOU. I just hope I get this right and I hope everyone else does, too.

Of course---now we're waiting for 2 more people.

I had issues with how it went into the spreadsheet, but I think I got it alright now. Thanks!
