Well even if there is a BD win cap I'm still plugging away .. if nothing else it's helping to increase my BD win percentage.

I can't remember, but was the cap from the last war/plot across the board or was it based on your pets stats?

I've pretty much done the same - worked to max out how many wins are actually obtainable. Might be able to get a few more on the first guy, but yeah.

The cap was across the board. In other words, no matter what your stats, you could only get credit for 30 wins (or whatever the cap was).

Hmm not sure I like such a low cap number (if that is what TNT decides to do) .. That kinda sends out the message that you don't really need to train your pet for the plots/wars because everyone that can beat the challengers at least 30 times will max out.

I'm no where near maxed out with the Junior Squadron (after 250 wins) how ever I have maxed out on the Strike Commanders after 75 wins and only managed 8 wins for Riilan. Those last few wins aginst the Commanders were not easy and it would be a shame to not get credit for them.

Heh, there were lots of similar sentiments in the missing posts.

My pet must be somewhat similar to yours in stats. I maxed out at 80 on the Strike Commanders (quite painfully bumped from 78 up - I wanted an even number), and I'm currently at 400(?) in the easy ones.

I look at it this way .. we took the time to sit here clicking around in the BD to get the points we have ... no one looked at our pet's stats and decided to just give us X amount of wins .. we had to work for them.

Congrats on 80 wins! and 400+ that takes some time to get all those wins. :o
I hope to have the time to get at least 50 more wins on the Squadron .. just to give me a nice round number ;)

I've only managed to beat him 4 time, (tying once and losing twice) but my last win was with such a small margin, I can't imagine going up against him again will earn me much plot points.

I am having fun trouncing the other guys though... I just remember that "they" were responsible for all that comm traffic and me having to decode it all...

On a somewhat tangential note, I was wondering (in case it hadn't been brought up here before) if anyone has thoughts on Riilan being the guy we beat up instead of Garoo? My thought was that since Garoo had been released as a hidden battledome challenger, not everyone had found him yet. Which reminded me that when we thought there were going to be battledome challengers, some people mentioned finding Garoo behind a crate (can't remember which thread that was in, but I know someone posted it) Maybe TNT was trying to get everyone to find Garoo, and since they couldn't be 100% sure, they just created a new character, Riilan, who Sloth (that's right, I didn't say Dr! Do your worst! lawl) never mentions. He even blames Garoo in Chap 8, not Riilan...

Geez that was a long tangent! :P

Yeah - that's why I'm still battling even if they do end up giving us win limits. I've got the BD points and the increase in win percentage.

And, heh, thanks. It did take some time - for me at least. My husband went through 400 wins in almost no time (like...20 minutes. I kid you not. Of course, he only had to hit them once for that whole time - it's taking me 5-6 hits to kill 'em now.)

Not as long as some of the ones we had on win limits. :P
More seriously, though, it does make sense that we can't really technically fight Garoo as he's already a 1-player challenger. Unless they make him super-much-harder, and give him a different name, etc...we may not fight him.
I do think, however, that it was determined that finding Garoo is actually a random event, and that you simply refresh at the station until you find him.

Yeah; Garoo is a random event at the Space Station.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible for us to fight him; they just have to give him a name like "Elite Commander Garoo" instead of just Commander Garoo, tweak his stats so he fits, and bam, there we go. Rilian was probably used as one of his minions, but Garoo himself, being significantly higher on the food chain, will come into play at a later fight. At least, I'd think he would.

I think you misunderstand. It wasn't 30 wins total, it was 30 wins per opponent so if 30 is the number, you'd get credit for 30 wins over the Junior Squadron, 30 wins over the Strike Commanders, and 8 wins for Riilan.

Basically, it's better to spend your time trying to pull off that last difficult win against the tough opponent, then tacking on another hundred wins against the easy opponent.
[later]
actually, re-reading you, you may not have misunderstood. oh well. My point stands the win limits are a way for them to encourage you to take on the hardest opponents you can, instead or racking up wins against the easy opponents.

and if their pattern holds, each set of challengers will be tougher than the previous wave, so training is still important. If they do it right, by the later waves, only the top battlers will be able to max out the higher level opponents.

BTW: you can still lookup how someone did in the TOW plot.

Woot!
Mutant Grundo Scouts - 10
Virtupets Militia - 66

Doesn't look like they took the old ones down, either.

And Chapter 10 is up.

Strange time to update, usually it's when I'm asleep :P

The also seem to have coincided the update with a site update, namely the trusty old yellow menu bar (items, shop, genie, etc.). Now it's all text... :(

Yeah, I noticed that. Ugh. It's awful.

Looks like they both pack a bit more punch than the first round - I'm seeing a lot more damage icons. I'm sure IDB will have the stats up soon. The Virtupets Militia look kinda funny.

Edit: Just thought of something: I'm guessing that since they're leaving the initial challengers up, there won't be any win caps. Why would they bother leaving them up for so long (a whole week now) when in the past, even without caps, they've been up for mere days?

Does anyone else think the Mutant Grundos should be stronger than the Militia? They look kind of like kids.

Actually TNT have updated almost every day since the plot started at the same time - 2pm NST. This is 8am my time, which is the time I get out of bed and turn on the computer.
