There is an interesting post on the boards just now. Someone theorizes that The Scout is Cylara from the future. That would make things a bit interesting if Cylara ran into herself. Well, the scout, we don't really know her name. She wouldn't be able to tell everyone she was Cylara, so she'd just be Scout. I doubt that Neopets would throw a loop into the story like that. Time travel hurts my brain..

See, I was thinking she was a relative of some sort. My argument was because they look a lot alike, but then I guess most girl cybunnies would probably look similar? Time travel would be cool but tricky to explain.

I'm pretty sure with every fandom there's been a theory thrown out at one time or another that one character is another character from the future. I know it was going around about Harry Potter, Lost, and I think Pokemon.

Not saying NO WAY!! but if I had to put money on it I'd say not.

*twiddles thumbs waiting for battle*

Which time travel theory do you want?

1: The scout is Cylara from an alternate future and has traveled back to prevent that future (probably one where Sloth wins). She has thus created a paradox where if she succeeds, the future she is from is null and thus she does not go back. Nice little grandfather paradox situation. There are various ways around the paradox, but they would take a long time to ponder out.

2: The scout is Cylara from the future, but one where they won based on the info from the future. Knowing where the info came from, they send Cylara back in time with the information, thus closing the time loop.

3: Bender's Big Score style. The paradox is self-correcting and either of the bunnies are doomed.

4: From a movie one of my friends told me about (I don't remember the name), the scout is Cylara from the future. She has a device where she enters at some point and gets out at some point in the past. To correct this, the past Cylara enters the device and travels back, leaving the future one with the knowledge needed as the only Cylara. Or something contrived as this.

Time travel is fun! (If it wasn't Lost night, a Back to the Future marathon would be in order).

I dont think I've discovered anything, mind, I'm just casting as wide a net as possible here. There are some numbers in the source code, but nothing obvious the right length for either the warehouse or the mine. Where else could we try to find a number, or a key to coming up with one?

Well, last week's Lenny Conundrum had a whole bunch of numbers in it -- maybe we could try various combinations of those. And has anyone noticed there's a poor little blue grundo plushie on Faerieland? When you click on it, you get a "..." sort of like the TBC. Maybe Sloth will turn Gorix into a plushie, and that's where he'll land...

[Sorry, sorry. I couldn't resist. Someone has to tie that plushie into the current plot speculation. Honestly, I'd rather have pets zapped plushie than time traveling. Or the worst possibility: Sloth gets zapped with a "nice" gun and makes us keep the Valentine sidebar until we defeat "Lovey Dovey Sloth" in the battledome.]

To make my post reasonably on-topic, I looked around Kreludor, but honestly, I think we need to escape "to" Kreludor before we have any steps "on" Kreludor. It'd be fun to have a "Lost In Space Fungus" type puzzle. I'm sure most of us would rather not have another round of decoding to get an authorization to leave the Space Station -- maybe we'll fight our way out instead.

That's what I was thinking. It wouldn't make much sense to have an action step in a place the characters aren't in yet...

Don't get me wrong, I like puzzles, and just "getting out" would be all right with me too....

But wouldn't it be more fun to have to beat our way out. Just a quick round of BD against nameless thugs. Kind of like the spiders in one of the earlier wars. Just to get out the agression built up from that decoding section.

Doesn't appear to be anything new. No battledome opponents, no new puzzles at the doors.

Edit: Interesting tidbit from the editorial, though:

Hi, my daughter is nine years old and I honestly can't see her being able to get through the code part of the current quest (it's making me tear my hair out). Obviously I can't help her, but would it be possible to have a "junior" set of plot prizes where younger Neopians can complete codes with only two variables or something similar? She's driving me to distraction! ~youvebeenkateid
Haha, sorry, we know plots can be difficult for players of all ages, but we don't have any intention of making "junior" prizes. We're sure that, with enough guidance and patience, a nine year old could do it. You're welcome to aid her, just not do it for her. :) For our even younger players, if they cannot do the plots, they may have to wait until they are older to participate in them. We want to make sure that plots are challenging, and if we geared them so that even incredibly young children could do it, we think that would take a lot of fun out of it for everyone else. The site is meant for all ages, but not every age group can be catered to with every single activity.

I find it interesting that they go through so much trouble to childize the site and yet they don't want to market the plot towards little kids...not that I mind...I like the plot; I just find this a little strange on their part...

I know! Seems mean after they kid-up (I have no idea if that phrase makes sense...) the site and then they have plot that college students can't figure out.

And just BTW, when is the next step coming out? I can't figure this out...release the comic so soon after the last one, indicate a disc of some sort, and not have the step ready? Seems fishy...

lol...I don't think "childize" is a word, either. EVERYONE, as far as I know, had a difficult time with that step. For them to say a nine-year-old can figure it out or they'll have to wait till they're older to do plots is ridiculous considering how much of a child-aim they're doing.

Well, there is an "Escape to Kreludor" game. Yes, I've played it (poorly). No, nothing seemed to change afterwards. It takes place in space, anyway, so I think we'd have a step or a comic that involves getting off the space station first.

Maybe it is just TNT's way of giving the adults something to do that isn't cute and cuddly and aimed at the younger player.

I get angry at the people that think that everything on the site should be able to be done as soon as the account is opened - newbies always complain they don't have enough nps to get a paintbrush when their account is only a week old, others complain that they should be able to do plots that are closed....etc.
Everyone wants everything and I am glad that this plot is harder, so those that really want that trophy need to work for it and not have it handed to them.

Childize might not be a word, but I like it. :)

I agree with you. The past few trophies I've gotten (except for the Altador Cup) felt pretty cheap. Sure, I had to do some work, but not much. All I had to do was put in my time. This plot will earn me a trophy that I'm proud of - because the decoding was difficult. Not fun - but the reward will show that I was able to think my way through them and succeed.

There's an old plot or two I'd like to do as well but not for prizes. It would be kind of fun if they kept puzzle plots open for a long time but just stop awarding points.
