For the single modifier ones, I have the same code for each. I'll see how it applies to the 2-modifier ones once I figure it out.
My code
One symbol (an umbrellaish thing) had no effect on the other 2; the X + the L/ made the umbrella; two X's made an L/, and two L/'s made an X for the single modifiers.

Blue graffitied on my signature... But it made me laugh, so it's all good!

It did that for me as well, but then I finished my single modifiers and it stopped on the double ones. I haven't even attempted the ones with 3. Also, I was able to put more than one modifier in a box which I also can't do after finishing my singles.

So far I have 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 18, and 19

#19: Clear through the weekend, but solar storms and sunspots may drench the whole system in Class-7 radiation. Apply sunscreen liberally.

#20: Space will be clear and calm for the next several cycles, with a slight chance of a plasma storm coming in from deep space.

#12: Multiphasic radar shows a singularity storm approaching from along the galactic rim. Do not go outside under any circumstances.

#4: Heavy asteroid rain tomorrow, with a 30% chance of giant space fungus invading your brain.

#7 Sporadic ion storms in the morning, with heavy ionization aftereffects ub the early afternoon. Watch for meteors.

#1 Corporal Griddix, I've told you half a dozen times that the security officer position has already been filled. I know you're interested in it but it's just not going to happen, so just find something else to do, all right? -- Sgt. Lands

#6 Did you guys hear explosions a little while ago? I'm grounded 'cause mom caught me playing Evil Fuzzles again, and she cut off everything except neomail. Anyway, all I can see out my window is some weird-looking ships flying around. -- Jimmy

#9 Carv--don't leave the shop, just high in the back if you can. Sloth's minions have invaded the station, and they've taken over the main concourse. I have to go, they're comi--

#10 Hey Morx, I got your message. We'll be having lunch down on the station's main deck some time this afternoon. Supposedly there's some interesting ships docking later today and Jinxy wants to check them out. Seeya. -- Keema

#2 I'm hiding out in the maintenance office -- none of Sloth's minions have broken in here yet but it's only a matter of time. Do you think they'll keep the station's regular maintenance schedule? -- Zerp

Yea!! The glitch on my #7 is gone. If anyone else gets a glitch, try another puzzle, then go back to it! *big sigh of relief*

Edit: For me #s 5, 7, 8, 18 and 19 were all my single modifiers.

Do you have your towel?

I completed 2 of the 2 modifier puzzles. Both were listed as Civilian Traffic.
I just went through and clicked methodically until solved.
The 3 modifier puzzles will be much harder at this rate.

Cheers. I'll try doing all the single ones first then :)

I also noticed that the code seems different each time you put the same 2 pieces in which is making me all the more frustrated lol. Arrghh i hope i will eventually be able to figure this out.

On the puzzles with 2 modifiers, you can put 2 things in one box? I haven't been able to do that, i haven't tried them all mind you but that makes me panic a little more about this. I have no idea why i am in a rush to get this done.

Well, it seems that it doesn't matter which order you put the codes over to the modifiers. Meaning, I get the same result if I put #1 in the first box and #2 in the second box and if I put #2 in the first box and #1 in the second box. Whew because that's at least a FEW less options! :)

It only did that until I finished my single modifiers. Now it acts like you'd expect. I'm guessing we have to finish the singles, then the doubles, and finally the triples...

Okay! For the double modifiers, what I'm doing is putting Number 1 into the first box. Then I will go down numerically until I find one that matches the first letter of the Target (if one doesn't work, then I know not to use that symbol again). Then I search for matching symbols taken from the first symbol of the one that made it match. If none of those fit, I put number 2 in the first box, so on and so forth. It's worked so far for me. ^_^

Unfortunately I haven't tried the 3 digit ones, but I assume a similar tactic would work.

I was doing the exact same thing, but doesn't seem to work for me, i have gone through all of them, but i guess it doesn't help that they change every darn time...grr

Has anyone else noticed that you can put more than one choice in the third modifier box? It gives two different answers. So, if you have 1 in the first, 2 in the second, 3 in the third and you put 4 in the third, you get one anwer. Put 4 in there again, you get a second answer. :(
