Well you could mean "know some words" "fluently speak" "understand bits" or all of those!

I speak English fairly fluently, and I know a little bit of French. I can also read and write Pig Latin. (Pronunciation is a pain!)

Well, I speak English mostly. I used to know quite a bit of Spanish, but I haven't spoken it in years. I used to know some Portuguese from my mom's family. I know a teeny tiny bit of Welsh, but I'm working on that. lol I'd really like to learn Japanese. :)

Oops wrote:Depends how you define "speak" but: english (wonder how many people won't say english)

but that begs the question "define english". Is it American English or the Queen's English.

Also the various dialects of english. For instance, I am Midwestern with a bit of a southern accent (I spent alot of my childhood in Arkansas).

And I love Boston accents!

I think it should be defined as queen's english (hint: queen=england-english) So american english should be called american. But we dont need to get into that :D

English primarily - and even though I'm a Texan from birth, I don't generally sound like one. That's what you get for growing up in an area where people move in/out frequently. I once had someone ask me if I was from New York, and I'd never even been there!

I know some German - enough to get by with.

English, and also some French and Latin.

Fluently: English.

Smatterings of words.
Latin (Grammatically correct Latin, no less) Egyptian (Hieratic) bits of French, German and Russian.

I do note, that my understanding of French, German and Russian is pretty much limited to insulting people and announcing my name.

Latin and Egyptian, to phrases, a couple Poems (Dies Irae FTW) and a whole vipers nest of names.

I've never had the attention span to actually learn any [other] language properly though I'm afraid.

I speak English and I can understand a lot of Spanish when it's written down. I know the structure of Latin(not so good with the actual words, since it's been a long time), so I could probably still translate it with the help of a dictionary--which may sound like something anyone could do, but the language structure of Latin is rather unusual if you don't know any inflection-based languages.

English (my first language), French (studied it for 7 years at school), Tamil & Hindi (can speak and understand them but can't read/write the scripts). I also know some basic Maori.

I believe you mean to say, "In America they pronounce all of their letters, especially the Rs. Those traitorous dogs. And such."
