You read what the title says, what is your favourite sitcom?

Personally, I have loads of favourite but my Top 4 are as follows,

(Not in order)

Reba
Friends
Everybody Loves Raymond
Still Standing

I watch other sitcoms but those are my favourites; I'm starting to get into "The King of Queens" and "Yes, Dear" so they'll most likely rank up there soon. So does anyone else like sitcoms?

I don't really watch sitcoms, but I voted for Two and a Half Men because I knew you didn't like that show :P

To be honest, I hate most sitcoms. I really don't like Friends or Everybody Loves Raymond. The rest I haven't seen, but I don't want to ever see Two and a Half Men.

Frasier might be worth watching though, so I'm picking that.

Some sitcoms I DID like were 3rd Rock From The Sun and Seinfeld. Also, I love 30 Rock, but I don't know if that would be considered a typical sitcom.

I loved 3rd Rock From The Sun and Seinfield's a good one, I completely forgot about it.

As for 30 Rock, I just think shows that are filmed in front of a live studio audience are sitcoms.

Oh, random fact, did anyone know "Everybody Loves Raymond" is the only sitcom in the history of television to NOT use the canned laughter effect? The show had to actually downplay the laughter as it was too much per episode. Pretty amazing eh?

Hm. Seinfeld is good. Quite liked 3rd Rock From The Sun.

Coupling, The Office (The Office doesn't have canned laughter, what the hell are you talking about?), Alan Partridge (also doesn't...ONLY SITCOM EVER? PFT), Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, Leage of Gentlemen, Allo! Allo!, Peep Show, Black Books... and so on

What do you mean it "doesn't use the canned laughter effect"? As in there's nobody laughing at the jokes, or it's filmed in front of a live audience? Because there are plenty of programs that do both.

My current favourites (and the only sitcoms I watch) are Corner Gas and Little Mosque on the Prairie. Both wonderful and Canadian (not that those aren't synonyms anyway :P).

Will & Grace and Seinfeld. Will & Grace is great when I'm in the mood for it, but Seinfeld is just really... casual, I suppose. Or something like that.

The Office, Igg, is not a sitcom because it's not filmed in front of a live audience.

As for the other sitcoms, I'm also referring to the fact that they probably didn't edit out laughter. Or perhaps they added in laughter to make it seem more funny.

I don't really know about those sitcoms as I've only seen a few British sitcoms (Fawlty Towers most notably, hilarious).

I posted that as I saw it on television, so I was just reporting what I saw.

Sitcoms are filmed in front of live audiences. The canned laughter is when sitcoms use recorded laughter on top of the real laughter in the studio. For instance, if a joke receives a few laughs, the editors will edit in the recorded laugh to make it seem as if it was really funny. Something "Everybody Loves Raymond" has never had to do. They even went as far as editing out laughter to make the show run on time.

It appalls me to know that there are people who actually like Will and Grace.

Dude, what? 'Sitcom' is short for for 'Situation Comedy'. There's no requisite that it has to be filmed in front of a studio audience.

I haven't heard of most of them :P
But the ones I have heard of are 100% rubbish (Will & Grace and Friends).
So, no vote for me ;o
